Zach is a young boy from the tail section of Oceanic Flight 815. He is one of only three children who survived Oceanic Flight 815, and one of only two children among the tailies. He and his sister were kidnapped by the Others soon after the crash.

Before the crash

Zach and his sister Emma were traveling to meet their mother in Los Angeles.

On the Island

Zach looks at Jack angrily when at the cages. ("Stranger in a Strange Land")

After crashing into the ocean, Mr. Eko carried Zach to shore. Zach called out for his sister and pointed to her body floating in the water. Mr. Eko pulled her to safety and Ana Lucia revived her by performing CPR. ("The Other 48 Days")

Ana Lucia took it upon herself to become a maternal figure to both Zach and Emma. On the first day after the crash, Mr. Eko asked Cindy if she could look after Zach and Emma while he took the dead bodies out. Emma had a teddy bear with her on the plane that Zach held onto while Emma was hurt.

They two children seen at Donald's funeral, both hugging Ana Lucia and looking sad. They were both abducted from the group of tail-end survivors by the Others on Day 12. ("The Other 48 Days")

Juliet assisted in caring for Zach and Emma, who continued to ask about their mother in Los Angeles weeks after the crash. Ben assured Juliet that they would stop asking in time. Juliet reminded Ben that Zach and Emma were children, to which Ben retorted that the two were on the list. ("The Other Woman")

While Jack was imprisoned in the cages, Zach, holding the teddy bear, approached him, along with his sister Emma and fellow crash survivor Cindy. As they turned to leave, Zach gave Jack an angry look. ("Stranger in a Strange Land")

When Kate found Jack at the Barracks, Jack confirmed to Kate that they were safe. ("The Man from Tallahassee")

Zach was briefly glimpsed along with Cindy and his sister Emma after Ben shamed Locke due to his failure to kill his father. ("The Brig")

Trivia

In "...And Found", Eko and Jin see some people, possibly Others, walk past them in the jungle. One of the group appears to be a child, and is dragging with him a teddy bear tied to some rope. The bear resembles Zach's, though Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse denied the similarity on the Official Lost podcast.^{[source needed]}
