There was a complaint to my user page that you were spamming Lostpedia pages with links to an external site, specifically, a blog, possibly your blog. I checked out a sampling of your edits and while they did seem to be additive rather than destructive, spamming is specifically prohibited. It would be much preferred if you improved the encyclopedia to include the material you were linking to, rather than generating the material externally and linking to it. Your ban will last three days while your edits are reviewed for usefulness and good faith. If it is found that your edits are acceptable, the ban will be lifted immediately. If once your ban is lifted, you engage in editing activity found to be substantially spammy, your ban will be permanent. Sorry about this and hope you will be able to make many positive contributions to the encyclopedia. Hang tight while we sort this out. Robert K S (talk) 17:09, 29 April 2008 (PDT)
- I have completed my audit of your edit activity. Except for your first two edits, both from 2007, and both of which were only to add external links, all of your edit activity has been with the purpose of adding links to the blogspot blog with the same name as your user name. Moreover, the material at this blog appears not to be entirely original analysis; a recent interpretation of the heiroglyphs on Ben's secret door, for example, was copied and pasted from DocArzt with attribution. So it appears that the entirety of your activity here has been with the intent of siphoning traffic to this external site rather than substantively improving the encyclopedia by building content within it. Your posting is not destructive spam, but it's still spam. Your ban will expire in 3 days. Please do not post external links to this blog on Lostpedia any more. - If you had contributed to Lostpedia to improve the encyclopedia in ways other than those that gave opportunity to redirect traffic to your site, then there would be no issue. But individually and as a whole, your edits have been purposed merely to add links to your site. That pattern of behavior constitutes spamming. You've already said that your time resources are devoted to other projects, and that's fine. Allow me to recommend that if you are going to focus on creating content elsewhere and then linking to it, Lostpedia isn't for you. If, on the other hand, your future edits substantively improve Lostpedia by adding analysis, images, etc. locally and in the proper places, you are welcome to stay. Also, please sign your talk messages appropriately, using four tildes (~~~~). Robert K S (talk) 06:22, 9 May 2008 (PDT)
