- Hey, I realize you haven't been here for a while so I thought I'd let you know we have changed a few things about the way we upload, tag and categorize images. The main premise is the same although now we have Template:Image which can do all the work for us. Basically if you upload an image of Jack and Kate from "The Beginning of the End" you can add {{img|Jack|Kate|4x01|copy=tvs}} and it will automatically add it to the categories for Jack, Kate Hurley and 4x01. It will also add the tv-screenshot copyright template and categorize it in that category as well. The main thing is we decided to try and start categorizing images by episode (as opposed to Season). I saw you were using Category:Images from Season 4. We are trying to limit use of that cat, instead we have sub categories Images from 4x01, etc. This makes referencing easier, finding pictures from certain eps easier and hopefully we can add links to these categories from the main episode infoboxes in the near future. As for categorizing using Template:Image (or Template:Img) if you add a term it does not recognize it will automatically sort it to a default cat as well where we can sort images and it lets us know which term you added is incorrect. It makes it easy to use, pretty much foolproof and it's a lot quicker to add. The 1 rule is to capitalize all names when adding them and leave anything else lower case (objects, etc). Let me know if you have any questions, hope this makes sense. -Mr.Leaf 19:45, 1 February 2008 (PST)
- ~Thx for the imput! I was wondering about that actually and I looked at tother images' categories. But now this seems really much simpler. - TheAma1 07:14, 2 February 2008 (PST)

- Hey, I just wanted to know where you download the episodes from? (with 1280 × 720 resolution)

Hi, could you possibly give the images you upload from now on more sensible names, rather than things like "4x02 Ben you've been punked" and "4x02 Charlotte Benned". It helps to make the site more proper and not confusing for newer users. Thanks. --SilvaStorm
Thanks for the Dan's journal images!
Good work and much appreciated! (Don't forget, though, to include episode numbers in image names when you upload them. "Dan's journal 1" should be "4x05 Dan's journal 1", etc.) Robert K S 14:14, 1 March 2008 (PST)
- Are the ep numbers really necessary in the image name now that we categorize images by episode? I think that's a organizational relic from when they were only categorized by season. -- Graft talk contributions 14:19, 1 March 2008 (PST)
- Oh, really? Nevermind, then! Robert K S 14:27, 1 March 2008 (PST)

The Charles Widmore image was uploaded before yours was uploaded if you can compare the date and times. Your image is a duplicate and needs to be deleted. Thanks. -- Nusentinsaino talk contribs email 10:24, 7 March 2008 (PST)
- The aim is to try to have the best resolution/image quality. If all images had to be deleted just because they were second, then we would have only poor and useless captions for every episode! - TheAma1 10:25, 7 March 2008 (PST)
- Suit yourself, I'm not going to cause a fuss about this lol. -- Nusentinsaino talk contribs email 10:26, 7 March 2008 (PST)
- I've just uploaded a better version of the image (better than both our first pics). - TheAma1 10:27, 7 March 2008 (PST)
- Oh yeah, I like it better. Nice find. -- Nusentinsaino talk contribs email 10:29, 7 March 2008 (PST)
Duplicate image
Is there a reason you re-uploaded Image:Jackiet.jpg after it was deleted? It is not being used and there is another image of the same thing. We don't want redundant images in the image list. -- Graft talk contributions 15:54, 11 March 2008 (PDT)
- It was only after having re-ul it that I saw it had been deleted. Although I think the present image on the 406 page is a poor resolution cap, so I don't see how it's really a duplicate rather a better version of the said screencap. - TheAma1 16:12, 11 March 2008 (PDT)
- I guess I consider it a duplicate if it is showing the same thing - meaning there is no use having both versions when one of them can serve the role. As much as possible, we need to decide on one image to use for all pages it appears on, unless a particular page requires a different size/format, like portal pages or character infoboxes. So if you want to use the one you uploaded instead, just swap it out on the 4x06 and Juliet pages and mark the other one with the delete tag with {{delete|unused/duplicate}}, and I can delete it. Otherwise, put a delete tag on the newer one and I can re-delete that one. Thanks. (fwiw, I kinda like the one that's not such a tight closeup, but that's just me.) -- Graft talk contributions 16:33, 11 March 2008 (PDT)
- No problem, i'll try to do a "wider" version of the 720p cap and upload it then. :) - TheAma1 16:38, 11 March 2008 (PDT)

Hi. You keep changing the image for the "The Shape of Things to Come" article. Could you take a look at Talk:The Shape of Things to Come#Image for article please. Cheers--TechNic|talk|conts 17:33, 26 April 2008 (PDT)

I'm sorry, but you need to rewatch the episode. The striped shirt is what Jack was wearing when he talks to Hurley, not what he is wearing at the end of the episode with Kate. That was a grey shirt with a darker grey dotted tie. -- LOSTonthisdarnisland 06:26, 2 May 2008 (PDT)
- Perhaps we are not talking about the same pics. The first pic (the episode's) - this one http://lostpedia.com/wiki/Image:FFJack2.jpg - is indeed from hurley scene. This one - http://lostpedia.com/wiki/Image:FFJack.jpg - is from the final FF (you can see the house behind him). I was referring to that latter pic (where he confronts Kate). - TheAma1 06:28, 2 May 2008 (PDT)
- Image:FFJack2.jpg is the picture I removed with the caption "Jack leaves Kate"; the striped shirt confronting Hurley one.[1] -- LOSTonthisdarnisland 06:31, 2 May 2008 (PDT)
- Okay, it was possibly exchanged then. I meant to put the "Jack vs Kate" picture instead. - TheAma1 06:33, 2 May 2008 (PDT)

I removed the blooper about Jack's scar. It's there and it's visible in the shot where he picks up the toy, and more visible in the shot where he looks at the razor.-- c blacxthornE t 07:35, 3 May 2008 (PDT)

Sexbot
Regarding your 'theory' on Charladay/Theories: Please see Lostpedia:Theory policy#Keep humor where it belongs. If you want to indulge in this kind of thing, please create a parody article in your userspace.--TechNic|talk|conts 15:47, 8 May 2008 (PDT)
- So if I get this right, the theory that "Daniel Faraday is Charlotte's father sent to the past to protect her from the Island" is actually a viable one whilst "sexbot from the future" is not? - TheAma1 15:52, 8 May 2008 (PDT)
- Well that is just a bad theory, but it's on a different scale of daft. It should probably also be removed. However, your sexbot one is clearly just a joke which had previously developed into a ridiculous back and forth[2], which is why its reappearance attracted my attention.--TechNic|talk|conts 16:02, 8 May 2008 (PDT)
Oceanic Press Conference Image
Hi, I believe the image Image:4.12-OceanicMedia.jpg should be used as it has a much better, clearer view of the conference, and shows more of the Oceanic 6 characters which is important for the article. Thanks --DarthTom
- Hello. It is evident that my image ( http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Image:O6Media.jpg ) is a far better one as, appart from the fact that they are basically capping the same moment, mine is of a better resoluton (720p) vs yours who is of a standard, lesser, one (368). The "better quality/resolution" wins here on Lostpedia, as you can witness by the vast majority of pics for season 4! Ergo, mine is of better quality. And please stop hard-replacing my changes to include your image. - TheAma1 10:56, 22 May 2008 (PDT)
- Actually, your image is in breach of Wiki image copyright guidelines as it is full resolution and is therefore replaceable by a lower resolution image. My image is a closer view of the conference without the unnecessary space around the Oceanic backdrop, and therefore the characters are much more visible. I advise you to stop replacing them as my image, although not as high-res, still features a better view of the event and is within image guidelines. --DarthTom
- Unfortunately, you are strongly mistaken. The world goes the other way around. A lower resolution (and therefore of lesser quality) can be replaced by a higher one.
Speaking of the copyright, I quote:
the use of a limited number of web-resolution screenshots
- for identification and critical commentary on the station ID or program and its contents
720p is still by far considered "web-resolution" (unless you have a poor 10" CRT display, but then again, that doesn't count), although the term "web-resolution" is quite vague indeed. Moreover, a 720p image, which is again, of a better resolution (meaning bigger, more detailed) will offer a clearer identification of the so called "station ID" as well as obviously its program (here Lost).
So please, stop inventing fake laws that states that a poorer version can replace a better one. The world doesn't work that way, rather the other way around! - TheAma1 03:09, 23 May 2008 (PDT)
- If you'd rather have an inferior view of the O6 characters in the conference, then by all means, stick with your image. All I'm saying is that the one I uploaded has a much closer view and shows more of the main characters involved, whereas yours has a lot of unnecessary space. So if you manage to get a high resolution capture of the same shot, then go ahead and we'll be at peace. Until then, I remain adamant that mine is better overall. --DarthTom
- The aim is to illustrate the episode hence the pic of the "moment". This is not a picture supposed to illustrate the "Oceanic Six" article. - TheAma1 11:29, 24 May 2008 (PDT)
