Noob question

Hey Santa, I didn't seem to find where the incomplete or unexisting articles are. Is there a category for this? I've only seen renaming, deleting and merging. Hope you can help me.--Benthos 13:47, 22 February 2008 (PST)

  • Thank you very much, this is exactly what I wanted to know. Now I can help even more.--User:Benthos/sig, 13 February 2008 (PST)
  • Santa, I finished the portuguese voice actors page. Just one thing: those two you or someone else put (Gilberto Rocha Júnior and Lúcia Helena) are not on the pt.lostpedia list. I presumed they were just rumored voice actors, and so are not official voice actors. I'll just try to edit the Portal now. By the way, how can I unredirect? Because on the first time I edited the Portal:Voice Actors, I edited "No Voice Actor" of Eko to Guilherme Lopes and now all the articles named "No Voice Actor" redirect to Guilherme Lopes. Hope you understand what I'm saying. Bye. --Benthos 13:47, 22 February 2008 (PST)

Homes For Orphaned Pages

I've been on an orphan solution quest for a couple of days now, slowly but surely. Can you assist me by adding the Lost: Series One - Two - Three page to your DVDreleases template? I've already added that template to the page, but I can't add the page to the template. Thanks. P.S. Any job requests for the orphanage? Wikistoriographer

  • I've got no problems with the pages I'm de-orphaning being marked for merge/deletion. I'm just working with the orphan list and not discriminating on their content (unless its glaringly obvious). Thanks for the rapid reply.

I'm also not sure if my method of fixing orphaned theories pages is what the ops want. I've taken to adding an unanswered questions template to the main article, but if there aren't any actual unanswered questions on the list, then this is taking up a fair amount of space. I've put theories orphans on hold for now. Wikistoriographer 12:30, 14 February 2008 (PST)

Payload unanswered questions

im kinda new to this so would you think that these would be good unanswered questions for that page

  • Why would there only be a clock in the payload?
  • Do the people on the frieghter suspect a time difference?

Thanks --ConnerXcountry57 20:31, 17 February 2008 (PST)

I think the whole purpose of the experiment was to see if their was a time difference. A better question would be "Did the freighter people expect a time difference? And if so, why?" --Blueeagleislander 23:19, 17 February 2008 (PST)

Ok that sounds good thanks for the help!--ConnerXcountry57 08:07, 18 February 2008 (PST)

IRC bots

Santa it would be nice to have more consistency with the various bots in the chatroom. Especially the Security System and trivia stuff. Is there any way I could help with these things? People would love trivia these days, and the .locke <nick> type commands would especially be good. Congested|talk|contributions 23:08, 21 February 2008 (PST)

I'm having various computer problems at the moment. They should be dealt with within two or three weeks at which point I will be able to shuffle a PC around which I can set up for the sole purpose of running the bots. Congested|talk|contributions 22:44, 22 February 2008 (PST)

I didn't last time I checked, but now I see I do. Should I bring up administrator-related issues there, on the Wiki board? Robert K S 01:47, 28 February 2008 (PST)

re: templates

I just wanted to let you know that I added a new template for video podcasts. It uses a different color and adds '(video)' automatically, I came up with it after I saw your edits to the Podcast page, that's all. -- MacCutcheon  talk  contrib  16:34, 29 February 2008 (PST)

Tovard note in article

I think the note you added to Tovard Hanso is best left to the talk section. It's an argument and it's based on fan speculation, not on the best sources we have. If the name turns out to be inaccurate in the future, we can rename the article. Robert K S 13:49, 1 March 2008 (PST)

Well, the question of whether "Tovard" is really the name and the question of whether the controversy belongs on the article page are two different questions. Even if there is a controversy, it probably belongs on the talk page until the issue is settled. (And until then, the article should choose one side and be consistent, even if it later turns out to be the "wrong" side.) That said--onto the other question--I really don't understand why there is a controversy. I've listened to that part of the episode over and over, and the auctioneer clearly pronounces it "Tovard"--there's simply no other possible interpretation. The "D" sound is there quite clearly. You can begin to argue that the actor was reading the script incorrectly, but that starts to stretch the evidence simply for some preferred correspondence with "Alvar"--"Tovar" and "Alvar", as if they were twins, or something. Secondly, for TV series that go by scripts, closed captioners usually work from the scripts or other provided reference materials to complete the captioning job. They don't typically just go by what they hear. A lot of evidence suggests this is the case with Lost--the high number of technical terms on the show, the fact that some inaudible dialogue made it into the captions (remember "Galaga"?). Kimber Andrews / Alissa Jean Scott

Hi, do you remember the discussion about the fan-speculated who-plays-who in Exposé (TV series)? See Talk:Kimber Andrews. I took the liberty to remove all hard statements about who-plays-who. So the pages for Crystal and Autumn now state that it's unknown who plays them. On the Expose main page I updated the text concerning the cast. So I suggest that the Kimber Andrews and Alissa Jean Scott pages be removed, since the info listed there is almost equal to the info on the Crystal and Autumn pages. --DJVok 06:49, 4 March 2008 (PST)

Question

There's been some discussion on Talk:Anagram as to what belongs and what doesn't. How would we, as a wiki, go about deciding a policy for the page as to what is relevant and what isn't? --Gluphokquen Gunih 10:51, 4 March 2008 (PST)

Crossrefs to Enhanced episodes

I tried using {{crossref|4x06e}} but it's not rendering correctly (see Harper Stanhope--it's currently rendering as ("The Other Woman-Enhanced")). How do I fix this? Thanks, Robert K S (talk) 14:34, 14 March 2008 (PDT)

4x07 Korean Transcripts

I completed writing Korean transcripts of 4x07 with Kckern. I have 3 questions; 1. Could I change the form of Korean lines? Now they are written in darkblue below the English subtitles lines, but I found that other languages are first written and [in 'other langauge': 'meaning'] are written, in 3x11 transcripts. Hm... and 2. it is different between when the subtitles are on and off, right? Finally, 3. there were some Korean lines that don't match with English subtitles. How could I write them? Although most of them are not that significant. Thanks in advance! --Foxysmile 06:03, 18 March 2008 (PDT)

Hey Santa, is it possible to run two different data sets on the trivia bot? I could easily process the transcripts to make some sort of quote quiz. -- MacCutcheon  talk  contrib  04:51, 25 March 2008 (PDT)

I would like your opinion

Please read this posting on the music talk page... I would like to have your opinion on this subject please. And if you would like to have a look at this posting to it would be nice... / Dreamingtree72 15:02, 6 April 2008 (PDT)

I would really appreciate...

Re: Michael Buble

I have googled it (Michael Buble Lost video) now and what I can find out it's not related to Lost. It just seems to be his new video of the single titled Lost. / Dreamingtree72 06:04, 16 April 2008 (PDT)

Bob Dylan

The song "Subterranean Homesick Blues" by Bob Dylan is on the list on the Music article (Referenced songs and musicians).
The context is; The video that Juliet plays for Jack on the Hydra television, in which she holds up cue cards, is reminiscent of Bob Dylan's video for "Subterranean Homesick Blues".
Do you think this is to speculative or should it be in the article? This is the last song on the list that don't have an article yet. Thought I discuss this before I create that article. / Dreamingtree72 06:13, 16 April 2008 (PDT)

The user Dagg made this notation to the Music article; This reference was confirmed in the 11/06/06 podcast. So I guess it's not speculative anymore... ;-) / Dreamingtree72 00:19, 17 April 2008 (PDT)

Policies in Progress

Hi Santa. There are still a number of Policies in process since they were opened for discussion in February. Could you help to move some of these to be institutionalised please? Thanks--TechNic|talk|conts 14:38, 15 May 2008 (PDT)

Cool. Fair enough. I realised because I was going to point someone towards Lostpedia:Talk pages, then realised it was still open. Also, Lostpedia:Talk is tagged as being policy, not policy, and needing a rewrite! Other pages like Lostpedia:User talk seem ready, but just need a second SysOp opinion. As you say, hopefully these can be revisited in the hiatus.--TechNic|talk|conts 15:21, 15 May 2008 (PDT)
