Hi is there a help page on template making? I could do with the help.--Princess Dharma (banned)

Where do I find the rules. I'd like to have a quick scan. --Princess Dharma (banned)
Libby Centric?
- Just because a person appears in one flashback in a episode doesn't mean it is them centric.--CaptainInsano 16:19, 28 January 2007 (PST)
- It does in the case of Exodus, the Pilot and Special. --Princess Dharma (banned)
- Actually it doesn't. The only flashback in the Pilot is Jack's, even though it shows Charlie and Locke they aren't listed. In Special Michael and Walt were in more than flashback scene. Exodus doesn't focus on one character, but multiple.--CaptainInsano 16:30, 28 January 2007 (PST)
- Yes but within these episodes they get 1 flashback. So the point you made above is wrong. --Princess Dharma (banned)
- No actually it proves my point. In SOS we see Locke but it isn't a Locke flashback. In Abandoned we see Jack but isn't a Jack flashback. In House of the Rising Sun we see Hurley but it isn't a Hurley flashback. In Special we see Locke but it isn't a Locke flashback. In What Kate Did we see Sayid but that doesn't make it a Sayid episode. In Man of Science, Man of Faith we see Desmond but that doesn't make it a Desmond flashback. Do you need me to continue?--CaptainInsano 16:39, 28 January 2007 (PST)
- Yes but it wasn't from their POV. Libby's flashback was from her POV. We can see this by her not being able to see Dave --Princess Dharma (banned)
The events are veiwed from a certain person's perspective. Hence why Hurley sees Dave in his flashback. Also it is HIS flashback. In Abandoned it isn't Jack's flash back so it isnt his POV. In S.O.S it isn't Locke's flashback so it isn't his POV. In What Kate Did it isn't Sayid's flashback so it's not his POV. Need me to go on? --Princess Dharma (banned)
- Exactly you are agreeing with me. In Special Michael doesn't see Locke but Locke is still there.--CaptainInsano 16:46, 28 January 2007 (PST)
- You are missing the point Libby has a flashback in Dave. Even though Jack appears in Abandoned it isn't his flashback. --Princess Dharma (banned)
- Then Special is not a Walt episode. --Princess Dharma (banned)
- But he has 1 flashback and they said that because the two are a pair. Like Rose+Bernard; Boone+Shannon; Jin+Sun. I beleive Hearts and Minds was for example described as Boone and Shannon episode despite her getting no flashback --Princess Dharma (banned)
- And the reason I edit it. Notice edit in its singular. Is because I found that post's title offensive. --Princess Dharma (banned)
- They aren't his flashbacks though are they? *Sigh* Anyway on your own your opinion is irrelivant. Later Lostpedia will reach a common opinion. --Princess Dharma (banned)
No now please end this discussion. --Princess Dharma (banned)
- Just wanted to make sure this discussion doesn't go into interpersonal territory, since the two were also part of that strong discussion on the quote issue with pshyco monster. Please stay with referenced citations of fact and/or policy, and open a discussion in an article talk page if necessary. Thanks! -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 17:13, 28 January 2007 (PST)
- I've only just noticed this discussion. In point of "Dave". The episode is Hurley centric. I'd point out, that the shot where we see Libby isn't from her point of view either, its essentially everyone elses point of view. After all, its Hurley that is creating Dave, no one else can see him."Hearts and Minds" is a Boone flashback, that features Shannon. The point being is that flashbacks are considered based upon who the episode is concentrated on, and whose story it is telling. In these two points its Hurley and Boone. Plkrtn talk contribs email 01:21, 20 February 2007 (PST)
Interpersonal
Nope I promise thinks won't get interpersonal. I don't like the guy sure but I won't argue with him. That would be giving him what he wants Lolz. Love ya Santa. --Princess Dharma (banned)
Lostpedia policy
- As a starting point for questions, see Help, especially the articles under "Guides" and "Policy". Lostpedia is still fairly young, so in some cases, policy is still evolving, and guided by community consensus. Therefore in some cases, policy may be decided through various article or Lostpedia talk pages. In some cases, our policy articles are still in the proposal phase, in which case they tend to reflect the emerging results from talk page consensus, rather than the other way around. Although Lostpedia is not Wikipedia (WP), we often refer to WP's rules as as a starting guideline for policy, and in some cases, these are our de facto' policy. See WP Help:Contents. When in doubt when another user references policy, an easy solution is to kindly ask that user to cite the exact policy article or talk page in question. You can also search for discussion by checkmarking the boxes "Lostpedia" or various "talk pages" (Lostpedia talk, user talk, article talk, etc.) at the bottom of the Search page. I probably missed something, but this should give you a starting point.-- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 17:25, 28 January 2007 (PST)
Ty and sorry for bothering your talk page with my silly questions :# --Princess Dharma (banned)
User categories
I am not certain what your question is, but I believe it is one of the templates over at Category:User_templates. Choose a template, and add it to your userpage; various category tags are included in the templates, for example Mexico or lostaway. (See User:GodEmperorOfHell for implementation of these examples). Alternatively, you could add the category to your page manually without using the templates by adding, for the examples above, , or . -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 17:35, 28 January 2007 (PST)

Sockpuppetry
Pssssst. Are you the same user as User:Pshyco Smokey Monster 2, or are you girls just really close friends that talk and act alike?--Phalange 09:16, 29 January 2007 (PST)
What makes you think we are the same person? Smokey is a good friend of mine. Sockpuppetry is a very serious offense by the way, if you'd like to make a formal allegation please contact a sysop. - --Princess Dharma (banned)
Please do not change the title of my post, it is against the rules. No offense hun. What is sockpuppetry? It sounds like a term that only an experienced wikiperson would know about. Maybe you have been accused of it before? please help me understand. Hugs.--Phalange 19:33, 30 January 2007 (PST)

- It's OK, it's all forgotten. Maybe I overreacted. Still, Im not entering that discussion any more as I think it's rather pointless. Thanks for your apology, though, I appreciate it. :) -- Lost Soul talk contribs 09:28, 29 January 2007 (PST)
Redirecting
- Hey, don't put yourself down! Everyone's new at some point, you pick it up as you go along. To redirect, go to the page which the redirect is (for example type in S.O.S sign if you want to redirect that to SOS sign), and then, in the blank page, type in #REDIRECT Pagenameofpageyouwanttoredirectto. I hope that makes sense (it was badly explained...) -- Lost Soul talk contribs 09:40, 29 January 2007 (PST)

Signature's Datestamps
PD, just a quick note: if you add an extra tilde ~ so that you have four in a row ~~~~, your sig will have a datestamp. I suspect you are probably using 3 atm. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 14:43, 30 January 2007 (PST)
A Few Things
I cannot change the community portal, only Sysop can, as it is locked. When the rename tag is added to a page as it was, it automatically gets added to the rename cat, which there is a link to in the community portal. So people will see it.
Secondly, I saw that you made changes on Katie Doyle's page removing the reference to "Flashes Before Your Eyes". Please don't do that. once confirmed by ABC Medianet it is official and we will add them to the wiki. That is how Lostpedia works. Removing stuff like that can be considered vandalism so just a warning. Mr.Leaf 15:02, 30 January 2007 (PST)
I was unaware that "Flashes Before Your Eyes" was confirmed. I was also unaware about the community portal being locked I though you could add a large task to the job list. I am very sorry but I only joined a short time ago so forgive me for not knowing everything. Princess Dharma (banned)
- No problem, thats why I'm letting you know. It'll take a while to learn everything and lots of different people will have to tell you. For future reference however we will most likely not include info on character pages if the episode it is for is not confirmed. But just to make sure, check out Season 3 to see if it is. -Mr.Leaf 15:08, 30 January 2007 (PST)
Fan locations?
Hi DP, sorry, I wasn't around much this weekend to reply. But on your question, which page do you mean, regarding fan locations? Is it something like gettting added to a certain fan location category? Maybe you could give me a link, and I'll try to help... take care... --PandoraX 16:38, 30 January 2007 (PST)
Signatures
Hey, you don't need to go back and corrected all your sigs. They're fine how they are --Mr. Crabby (Talk) 13:23, 31 January 2007 (PST)
Also, it's illegal to change what other people, but on your talk page, even if it's spelled wrong. You have to leave it be --Mr. Crabby (Talk) 13:24, 31 January 2007 (PST)
- Erm, its not illegal, its just now considered the thing to do. I don't mind spelling changes and corrections for the sake of neatness as long as it isn't changing what is being said or asked. -- Plkrtn talk contribs email 01:27, 20 February 2007 (PST)
I'm not going to unless I come across that talk page again. I don't like my old manky sig on this talk page though. Princess Dharma (banned)
You just changed the title of this from "sigs" to signitures, you changed a title from this talk page from "Poll" to "Mr. Crabby's Poll". That kind of stuff is not allowed and if it continues could leaded to tempory banning. Just FYE --Mr. Crabby (Talk) 13:27, 31 January 2007 (PST)
I thought that my talk page was mine just like my userpage. Sides it was only a little title change that affects no-one. Unless you are a title collector. It would be serious then. Very serious. Poor title collectors. :-(. I won't do so again then. I was too moved by the title collectors. Princess Dharma (banned)
Good thing you're planning to stop. If you read the block log for your friend, Smokey, part of the reason was editing comments on his talk. Although this is minor, it can lower your reputation as a user. By the way, is Smokey going to come back to Lostpedia? His block has expired so he can edit again. --Mr. Crabby (Talk) 13:32, 31 January 2007 (PST)
- Whoa whoa. There is a difference from changing "sigs" to "signatures" and "poll" to "Mr Crabby's Poll" if it makes things appear clearer, and changing the context of a discussion which is what Smokey did. Plkrtn talk contribs email 01:27, 20 February 2007 (PST)
- Don't worry, I don't think anyone minds really minor changes to user talk pages, it's a gray area. The issue Crabby refers to was a dispute in progress, with entirely different types of problems and issues; his warnings are somewhat unmerited, so I wouldn't worry as we're mainly hands-off unless there is a deep problem. Also when your talk page gets longer, you may archive older talk to a separate page inside their user area. BTW are you intrinsically against using datestamps on your sig?-- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 00:07, 2 February 2007 (PST)

Re:Edits
- The only way to find the exact number is to count them. However, a trick that will tell you roughly how many edits you have made is to open your contribs list and count how many pages of 50 edits you have or how many of 100 edits or when you get high enough how many pages of 500 edits you have. Then you can tell if you have 4 pages you have over 150 edits if you get what I'm saying. Hope this helps. -Mr.Leaf 12:24, 1 February 2007 (PST)

You
- Both of you need to stop (yes, Cap instigates a lot, and I will leave this on his talk page also). The matter of whether she is a ballet or dance instructor IS trivial, because she is both (a ballet instructor is a type of dance instructor, though we will keep it at ballet because it is consistant with what the most specific info on her). If something is edited back and forth more than twice, it should be continued on the talk page to prevent an edit war, it's not an excuse to continue a pissing contest over a personality clash. --PandoraX 11:27, 4 February 2007 (PST)

I'm not sure if there is a way to search images other than checkboxing the image space box, and hoping your search term is either in the image title or the image description. Category:Americans
- Hey, I moved your discussion from Category talk:USA Fans to Category talk:Americans as it was confusing everyone who responded. In the future please however remove the redirect and post the discussion on the appropriate talk page. I'm aware your relatively new so if you don't know how to remove redirects or even add them for that matter don't be afraid to ask me or any other relatively experienced user, who should be able to help you. Another option would have been to add a link to the category you were talking about and likely one of the people who responded before I got there would have moved it for you, although the ideal situation is starting the discussion on the correct page. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Thanks -Mr.Leaf 14:12, 5 February 2007 (PST)
- No problem, it's relatively easy. For Redirecting, Say for example I wanted to redirect Jack to Jack Shephard so it looked like this: Jack (which has already been done). First step is go the the page you want to redirect. Then add this code:
#Redirect Jack Shephard
Submit and the page will redirect to the page you put in the square brackets. Now, removing redirects is relatively easy as well. Go to the page you want and it will redirect you to wherever. However on the page you got redirected to you will see a small line that says:
(Redirected from Jack)
Click on the link in this and it will bring you back to the page you were redirected from. Edit it removing the code to redirect and then it will no longer be a redirect page. it is relatively simple once you get the hang of it. Ask if you have any more questions. -Mr.Leaf 14:30, 5 February 2007 (PST)

On medals
- Well, Jabr's right, we did have the idea come up before (which is not a bad idea or anything, but we decided against it for a few reasons... one of which was that it could lead to some people making edits for the wrong reasons). I can't find the talk page/straw vote now. So, it's not like we're trying to knock that down or anything, but I think that was the origin of the hard work medal, to prevent it being a front page thing. That's something you can give to anyone who you feel is worthy (it doesn't have to be approved by a sysop), just to give them a little recognition from one editor to another. --PandoraX 12:05, 7 February 2007 (PST)
Thanks
Aldo
Hi. I respectfully disagree with your mentions about Aldo. From the policy: "A theory differs from speculation in that it is backed up with logically consistent observations and facts. Without supporting evidence, statements are merely speculation. All theories should be presented as statements along with their supporting facts...". Please explain exactly where is the supporting evidence in the show that Aldo refers to any of the names mentioned. That a character's first name shares a string of a few letters with someone not referenced in the show doesn't comes close to supporting evidence. That's at best wild speculation and doesn't form a sufficient basis for a theory. -- Cheers 11:37, 8 February 2007 (PST)
- The thing is, I'm sure we could find literally thousands of people with similar first names and we could make up interesting speculations about them. It still would fall short of anything resembling the shadow of the tail of a theory backed with supporting evidence found in the show. Anyway, not that I really care much, but IMO those unsupported speculations would be appropriate on the discussion page, but not on the thory page. :) -- Cheers 12:04, 8 February 2007 (PST)

Your "messed up time" theory...
"I finally have proof that time is messed up on the island and here it is! The producers said in a podcast that we had to pay attention to when Juliet's flashback was happening. Juliet said she had been on the islnad for 3 years right? This means that she arrived in 2001? Then how come the bus hitting her husband which seemed to happen not very long before her arrival have an Apollo logo? Apollo became bankrupt in the 70s. Interessting?"
Interesting yes - except he got hit by a bus just after wrapping up a call on his nice slimlime cellphone. ;-) Indigo Vapour
Americans
Okay, since it's pretty much just you and I talking about this, I thought we should move the discussion to our talk pages. Yes, GEOH feels very strongly on the issue. There's one. Like I said, it's an argumentative few. He's free to call himself whatever he likes, I'm not telling him not to. But whenever he does people will be confused, because the word "American" already commonly refers to the people from the United States of America. To follow your hypothetical, what if someone told you that you could no longer refer to yourself as "Thai", because they wanted it to mean something else now? I identify myself as an American, and that has strong meaning here. The idea of watering down the word to mean something else is repulsive to me. I'm not at all making this personal, I'm just trying to better explain myself. -BearDog 11:00, 9 February 2007 (PST)
- But they aren't Americans. Canadians, Americans, and Mexicans are all also North Americans. Brazilians, Peruvians, and Bolivians are all also South Americans. There is no continent just called America, there is one called North America, and one called South America. Again back to your metaphor, what if you could no longer call yourself Asian, because people thought you should call yourself Eurasian now? It's stripping my national identity without a reason. -BearDog 11:14, 9 February 2007 (PST)
That's deeply offensive, and wrong on every logical level. But if you would like not to speak about it anymore, I will respect that. -BearDog 11:21, 9 February 2007 (PST)

I knew that : ), is just that its against the rules, to edit another user's page without permission. Just wanted to warn Princess Dharma, before someone important did. Better me than an authority figure --Mr. Crabby (Talk) 06:45, 17 February 2007 (PST)
Clean up
Hi. You may have mised this: "Irrelevant discussion that does not relate to the Main Page may be removed." Which, actually, is only restating a general principle. Any discussion not relevant to the page can be simply deleted, and it could even be left at that. Although a better and more courteous thing to do when talk is posted to the wrong place is to move it to the approprate place. I can't see your point in re-cluttering the page with the irrelevant stuff after someone actually went through the trouble not only of doing the cleanup but also of moving the stuff to the appropriate place. Talk:Main-page could certainly use more frequent clean-ups. If you have time for it, I suggest it would be more useful if you helped with the cleaning up of the Talk:Main_page instead of undoing it. -- Cheers 08:45, 17 February 2007 (PST)

Lostbook skin
I had that same problem, because I'm using Internet explorer 6. If you go to your preferences, and click one of the other tabs, it seems to place them back correctly so you can get to the skins tab to change it back. Took me a minute to find it too! -BearDog 10:44, 19 February 2007 (PST)
- Yeah, I think it looks nice, but I really do prefer the standard monobook skin. Fortunately, we have choices. Even if the community decides to adopt this skin as the default, you can still set your preferences to whichever one you'd like. -BearDog 10:57, 19 February 2007 (PST)
- That's definitely a valid concern, we really don't want our first impression to be a broken skin. Fortunately, I don't think they'd actually try to implement while it's still buggy on IE6, as too many people still have it. Folks like me don't download brand new versions of Microsoft Programs, because there's always too many bugs in the early versions. I think at this point, they're just looking for feedback- it doesn't seem quite ready to go forward yet. -BearDog 11:11, 19 February 2007 (PST)
Theory Policy Talk Page
I would suggest that Lostpedia talk:Theory policy is probably a better place to post your comments on rule 6 then the main page.-Mr.Leaf 15:23, 20 February 2007 (PST)
Hey, I moved the comment from the main page to the theory policy talk page, just because you'll probably get better answers there. I didn't want you thinking I just deleted your comments... -BearDog 15:44, 20 February 2007 (PST)

Your Theory
Honestly, why make a comment about Locke's homosexual tendency's? It had no evidence, obviously not true and just in all ways...wrong. DrGiggles 13:45, 22 February 2007 (PST)
How is it wrong? There is evidence to back it up (see Locke's theory page's talk page). Are you homophobic? --Princess Dharma (banned) 13:47, 22 February 2007 (PST)
It's a childish comment and it doesn't belong on Lostpedia as Im sure others would agree. DrGiggles
It is not childish I have backed up my reasons. Do see the prospect of person being gay childish for that is homophobic. Princess Dharma (banned) 13:54, 22 February 2007 (PST)
I find the prospect that u call Locke homosexual without basis about his time at school out of order. DrGiggles 13:56, 22 February 2007 (PST)
Locke tells Boone about his childhood and being a weeble or sommat. Princess Dharma (banned) 14:01, 22 February 2007 (PST)
Look, if he stood up and said "Boone im a homosexual" then yes i'd agree but calling himself a "weeble" , which im unsure of, does not mean his gay. DrGiggles 14:02, 22 February 2007 (PST)
- What is a weeble? Are you just making up these words? Jabberwock talk contribs email - 14:05, 22 February 2007 (PST)
I am thai I have no idea what a weeble is but Locke claims to be one and says that he wasn't a very popular kid. Princess Dharma (banned) 14:07, 22 February 2007 (PST)
- I believe a weeble is like a boy scout. Locke mentions it to Sayid when he sees the compass sayid made using the needle and cork, and says "I haven't seen one of those since i was a weeble". And that doesn't make hime gay.-Mr.Leaf 14:08, 22 February 2007 (PST)
Thank you. Does anyone else agree with me the comment was wrong and not backed up? DrGiggles 14:09, 22 February 2007 (PST)
Maybe it would help if you linked us to something in a transcript. By the way a "Webelos" is a type of Boy Scout. That doesn't make him gay. Jabberwock talk contribs email - 14:11, 22 February 2007 (PST)
Yes i agree, also because we have seen him with women.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by lewisg (talk • contribs) .

- Congratulations. Your continued name-calling has earned you a 1-day time-out. Jabberwock talk contribs email - 14:17, 22 February 2007 (PST)
In some communitys its spelt n00bs! And always sign your comments. DrGiggles 14:15, 22 February 2007 (PST)
- PD, why do you have to be so controversial? Your forever at the forefront of an argument, its getting abit silly. Plus, calling people NEWBS,id consider that a personal attack, and as you have had words with editors who have broken rules before you should know better. Please, accept when your wrong, and try and keep arguments to a minimum. Its not the be-all and end-all.--lewisg 14:17, 22 February 2007 (PST)
One more day for you
For continuing to insult other users you get one more day of blockage. Also, Please do not delete talk history from your talk pages. You are welcome to create an archive, but shouldn't delete. Jabberwock talk contribs email - 12:03, 28 February 2007 (PST)
Don't Delete
Honestly, you can't delete it. The only thing you can do is arhive it. Stop trying to cover up your past and start making constructive edits to Lostpedia. --Mr. Crabby (Talk) 13:41, 1 March 2007 (PST)
