OK
Right OK, and for the record I didn't permaban MatthewFenton, I wanted him to stay on even though he was a tad immature. However, I could not find grounds to really contest the ban when another SysOp decided it, as he was a little out of order. Thank you for your level-headed approach to this matter, and I hope the issue is now firmly resolved. Back to actual editing (heaven forbid!) --Nickb123 (Talk) 09:56, 9 October 2006 (PDT)
vandal template
we have one: [[Template:Vandal]]. there used be a category as well, dunno if that still exists. --kaini. 19:05, 10 October 2006 (PDT)

Ban Template
Some suggestions: Make the red background a bit ligher so text is easier to read. Also the (enter reason here) doesnt work on a template, they are designed to be universal. However if you look at the merge template it allows users to enter text to select the page (ex. {{merge|Merge page here}} ). I'd recommend copying that so sysop would do {{banned|Reason here}} -- Paladine<c.t> 09:20, 12 October 2006 (PDT)
- I changed the colors a bit, I think it's easier to read now. What do you think? -- Paladine<c.t> 10:13, 12 October 2006 (PDT)
I like it.--Fan99 10:40, 12 October 2006 (PDT)
Sig
You need to close your font tag on your sig. It's messing stuff up afterwards. Also the code of your sig is appearing on talk pages. To rectify this, simply put {{User:Onelastword/sig}} here: User:Onelastword/autosig. Then, under your preferences, set your nickname to {{User:Onelastword/autosig}} -- Paladine<c.t> 10:06, 12 October 2006 (PDT)

Ban Template
Yeah I like it much more than the current "Eko vandal" thingy people use. People can use it freely if they wish, and I shall try to remember to as well --Nickb123 (Talk) 12:42, 12 October 2006 (PDT)
- Interesting, but I'd leave it up to the sysops. Good work. Have you tested the arguments to see if they work? -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T18:09, 12 October 2006 (PDT)
- Arguments = 1 & 2... the variables that go into your template. Your ban reasons. Arguments. Try looking it up if you need further clarification on the definition. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T18:17, 12 October 2006 (PDT)
- OK I'll say it one more time: 1) Sysops are the ones you need an opinion from. Messaging me is not helping or affecting your cause in any way. I myself think the template is not necessary but is harmless. 2) You should confirm that you have tested the use of the arguments. Testing = making sure that it works as intended; see 1). -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T18:28, 12 October 2006 (PDT)

Ban Template
Nice one, it's got my vote. Far more appropriate than than template with Mr.Eko smashing...well, I don't wanna know what he's smashing. Great idea, --Gateboy42 14:02, 12 October 2006 (PDT)
- Yeah, it's okay I guess. --SilvaStorm
Template
Like the ban one, but the bob one has been removed cause its just not appropriate I don't think to give someone vandal high status. Regards, --Nickb123 (Talk) 07:17, 13 October 2006 (PDT)

Inactive Template
Whie I dont think anything is wrong with the template, I don't think its necessary. Theres over 7000 users registered here, and in the past weeks I've been here probably less than 100 have contributed. Too many people are inactive to make the template useful, and most will never visit the userpage of an inactive user. Sorry if this comes of as harsh, nothing against your work, I just don't think it will be that useful -- Paladine<c.t> 10:48, 16 October 2006 (PDT)
Mr Fenton
What is to suggest that he may be coming back to Lostpedia? -- Plkrtn talk contribs email 17:20, 18 October 2006 (PDT)
Hey
How's it going? I am personally sorry that I got your last account (DotheDew) banned. I was just trying to alert SysOps because I tthought you might be back for another round of hell on us. SO, if you don't do anything stupid, you're cool in my book. --Marik7772003 16:43, 19 October 2006 (PDT)
Apologising on Lostpedia's behalf
I'd like to ask you not to speak on the behalf of Lostpedia, especially to vandal users like MatthewFenton. You have no authority to apologise on the behalf of people who do not wish to apologise to a vandal. -- Plkrtn talk contribs email 16:02, 20 October 2006 (PDT)
- Look at his user page User:MatthewFenton. He's never had any intention of being on our side of the debate. He's quite a Wikimedia Foundation zealot. -- Plkrtn talk contribs email 19:27, 20 October 2006 (PDT)
Fan99's ban
You shouldn't be too surprised. Fan99's IP addresses had multiple accounts registered to them, and these users activities were solely aimed at hounding another user that Fan99 had taken a dislike to. It is a shame, because he had made some fantastic edits here, but its sockpuppetry and bad faith and thats why he was banned. -- Plkrtn talk contribs email 17:44, 20 October 2006 (PDT)
>100 edits template
that's something you add yourself to your user page; it's not an award or anything like that per se. if you want to add it to your page, the template is {{User 100edits}}. i'm actually working on an automatic editcounter which i should be able to implement once i get some backend php stuff sorted out. --kaini. 12:38, 25 October 2006 (PDT)

language
You just wrote to me:
- "I'm not angry, I'm pissed
- Its users like you, with no respect for others that makes me want to flame war.
- This is emotional talk, and as such is inappropriate here. You make no substantive replies to my points and requests for information on your template talk page. As a reminder, I wrote:
- "hastily-considered... effort... was a bit odd."
- Then, I went on to explain why I said this by explaining there is no conceivable place for this template for public use for the reasons 1) our community doesn't work this way, and 2) there is simply no way to implement it b/c it requires locking the userpage. (This should be obvious to a long-time user such as yourself, despite your claim in the belief about mysterious "autopasting")
- Then, I concluded with a request: "I'd like to know what need you thought this would fill. Otherwise, to be honest, to me this looks like a vanity project, or a call for attention..."
- This is a request for information that you still have not answered. Instead you chose to tell me how emotional you are, and personally insulted me ("I have no respect for others"), and that you are beyond angry with me. I made no such insults to you. Read it again.
- Then, I concluded with a request: "I'd like to know what need you thought this would fill. Otherwise, to be honest, to me this looks like a vanity project, or a call for attention..."
- Also, your quote of mine is taken out of context and makes no sense to me, and you again (hastily) did not care to explain it, and just posted it as if it held some significance. I don't remember the incident, but it seems as if you were probably behaving similarly with talk page solicitations.
- "hastily-considered... effort... was a bit odd."
- Bottom line: Don't cross the emotional line so readily, it's not appropriate.
- Other issue: Please address my questions regarding your intent for your template; these clearly provide the basis of my other opinions that you interpreted emotionally.
- Regarding your editing: This was not a facetious comment: If you look at your contributions list, indeed you have a disproportionate weighting of contributions to talk pages and template projects relating to banning, compared to other users. There is no other user who has such a strangely weighted contribution list, to my knowledge.
- I suppose that's what struck my eye, the sort of peripheral contributions. You have mentioned your 'useful' suggestions regarding Japanese Lostpedia, yet on the other hand, I don't think you have made any substantive (or perhaps any) contributions to the Japan article (or related ones such as Yuna Ito), nor to any other international article (e.g. voice actors, Hungary, Slovakia, South Korea, etc.). Regarding the usefulness of suggestions, I've probably made more than you, so you are not unique on that point. Entertainment is fine, I do it and support it too. Talk pages are fine, but see little contributions regarding important issues concerning the future of the wiki (e.g. MoS(p), MoS(Episode articles), Lostpedia:Canon, etc.). However I see that you seem to have a lot of energy, and you seem to care greatly about Lostpedia, but at the same time it can be interpreted that you are (often) actively avoiding directly adding content to mainspace articles... thus I believe these efforts could be redirected slightly to more directly improve the quality of our wiki; you seem to disagree based on your last talk, (and that's fine) and I'm delineating these comments simply because these issues were raised. For the time being, yes, let's just do our own thing. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 14:50, 8 February 2007 (PST)

Re: Go Pro
First off, nothing is funnier than the Lostpedia/Hanso conspiracy (except maybe the Chuck Norris theory). Secondly, I'll think about it. I still have to add more episodes to even consider making it a parody. It seems like almost all the parodies are or have been put up for deletion so I'm a little nervous about that. If an admin gives my a thumbs-up then I'll pursue it. P.S. Are you on there? If not tell me and I'll give you a flashback episode. --Mr. Crabby (Talk) 13:32, 5 March 2007 (PST)

Revert
To revert an edit, you need to go onto an article's history and click the second to last revision. This opens the article as it was previously. Then click "edit" as you would normally and it will say "Warning: You are editing an out-of-date revision". Then just go to the summary box and write in why you reverted something and press save changes. For a more encyclopaedic guide, see under "reverting text" on Lostpedia:Vandalism. --Nickb123 (Talk) 10:56, 11 March 2007 (PDT)
