Past versions of pages

Actually, every page has a tab at the top labelled "history" and if you click that it'll show every change to the page that has ever been made, along with who made the change. It's how they keep track of vandalism or (more often) just past versions of the page in case someone makes a mistake while editing. It's not just available to sysops, but to anyone. And don't worry about knowing all the rules. As with most wikis, the best way to get started is to dive in headfirst and learn as you go. Remember, everyone was new to it at some point. :)  Jimbo the Tubby  talk  contributions  17:24, 9 May 2008 (PDT)

Removed UQ

  • Hi. When you make an edit and it is reverted, please discuss the situation before you make the same edit, because there is obviously no consensus regarding the new edit. I removed your UQ from the Cabin Fever article because it was not open-ended and it asked a question not raised. Ben's comment was merely about how he wasn't the one ordered the purge and there was another leader. Please do not revive the question and if you feel you're making an important point, feel free to add it to the theories section of the page, as a theory (and not a question). You might also want to see this policy and these guidelines about UQ. Thanks, and happy editing.--     c      blacxthornE      t     08:21, 14 May 2008 (PDT)
  • Hey Gaarmyvet. Just to add onto what Blacxthorne's said about UQs, make sure you don't "sign" anything in the main article. Thanks.--Overworkedirish 14:20, 14 May 2008 (PDT)

Talk page

Re: Kate's parents

Wayne, her biological father whom she killed is dead, but Sam Austen, who she was led to believe was her father, is alive as far as we know.  Jimbo the Tubby  talk  contributions  20:27, 15 May 2008 (PDT)

Missing mercenary

I removed it. It's not a major mystery of the show. Just because a character isn't shown on camera in an episode doesn't mean we post UQs saying--"What happened to so-and-so?" Vincent wasn't in the episode either--so what? Have you read this essay? Robert K S (talk) 12:25, 16 May 2008 (PDT)

Theories page

Please don't sign posts in theories pages. I've been removing sigs from the "There's No Place Like Home, Part 1" theory page and a lot of them were yours. The posts are great and I love some of you ideas, just don't sign them. Lostpedia:Theory_policy --Gluphokquen Gunih 23:30, 16 May 2008 (PDT)

no prob, Anything on the talk pages gets signed, theories and main articles don't. --Gluphokquen Gunih 10:08, 17 May 2008 (PDT)

Re: Orphan bullets

I'm sorry, I'm not really sure what you're asking. Can you give an example of what you mean by orphan bullets?  Jimbo the Tubby  talk  contributions  17:29, 17 May 2008 (PDT)

I see what you're saying. In the editing for the text, where it says "***Blah blah blah" change it to say "*** Blah blah blah". ie: put a space between the stars and the text. That should take care of the extra bullets.  Jimbo the Tubby  talk  contributions  18:32, 17 May 2008 (PDT)

Renaming images

Editing talk

It is completely against policy to delete talk comments [1]. Also, you shouldn't change your own comments - particularly a week after you made them. You can strike through your own comments (using <s></s> tags) and add a new comment after indicating that you have changed your mind, but you mustn't remove anything.--TechNic|talk|conts 16:44, 20 May 2008 (PDT)

Re:Quote

I'm not sure that this has an official reference. However, I had a quick look around for you, and the only reference I could find under talk pages and what have you was under the Richard Alpert/Theories page, where the edit in question [2] was added by User:Nusentinsaino. However, it looks to me like he just pasted the info in from somewhere. Maybe ask him where he got the idea from if it wasn't his own theory? Other than that, I can't think of an official show reference, but it could have been from a podcast or something?!?!? Sorry I can't be of more help, --Nickb123 (Talk) 17:04, 25 May 2008 (PDT)

Re:Die on the island?

Hey, I have no idea where that source came from either.

I just copied all the theories about Alpert from the There's no place like home theory page, to where it should fit (in Alpert's theory page) I had no contribution to that quote. Sorry.

Character Arc

Hello, Thanks for the feedback. I am glad you like the topic. I would love to hear every disagreement you have. The more opinions the better. If you do not want to clog the talk page, put them on my user talk page. Thanks Playsbad 13:21, 2 June 2008 (PDT)

removed UAQ about reachout to Kate

Hi there, I deleted the question because there is no indication in the last episode or any episode about anything that went wrong between Kate and the rest of the Oceanic 6. That renders the question in my opinion as trivial/irrelevant.--Messenger 08:17, 3 June 2008 (PDT) Yeah, but what about the others? What's wrong with them? I think we should stick to major questions, mysteries that are waiting to be answered. This is really no mystery to me and has not been for many other as it appears. Regards.--Messenger 08:28, 3 June 2008 (PDT)

Links

  • I agree. If you're referring to excessive linking I have done then please let me know where? Your comment is kind of vague.--Chesebrgr 06:30, 4 June 2008 (PDT)
  • You still did't say which page you mean, but I don't remember adding excessive Ben links at all. If you compare my edit to the previous one you'll see what changes I made. Any previous changes, were not done by me!--Chesebrgr 06:42, 4 June 2008 (PDT)

Aaron

Well, this is simple really. We've established that Aaron is a main character in Lost, and he is an important character, and a survivor of Oceanic 815. He is one of the Oceanic Six, and as the finale episodes were Oceanic Six centric, then he is a character in the flashes... especially with his interaction with Claire and his grandmother. The "hes a baby" stuff doesn't fly here.  Plkrtn  talk  contribs  email  06:35, 4 June 2008 (PDT)

"There's No Place Like Home, Part 1"

Can you point me to the edits in question by giving me the URLs? Robert K S (talk) 18:08, 4 June 2008 (PDT)

I'm still a little unclear as to why the page needs to be locked. I don't see an instance of vandalism in the edit you sent. If there's a content dispute between editors, it should be taken to talk. Robert K S (talk) 19:12, 4 June 2008 (PDT)

Richard in the 50's

What do you mean, Richard recognized the Monster in the 50's? We've never seen a Richard flashback and in Locke's and Locke's mother's flashback Richard wasn't on the Island and the Monster was never mentioned. If no explanation for this theory is provided, we're going to have to deem it as highly illogical and therefore remove it. But if you can support the theory and explain what you mean, it stays. Namaste! --Ashrawi 02:50, 8 June 2008 (PDT)

Capitalization of section headings

Please note that section headings should be capitalized according to the same rules as are used for article titles: all words after the first should be lower-case, unless they're proper nouns. Robert K S (talk) 17:47, 11 June 2008 (PDT)

Others Portal

Thanks for the heads up. I've set all the widths to 16%, hopefully that should do the trick. If there's any more problems, let me know. Thanks! :)  Jimbo the Tubby  talk  contributions  12:46, 12 June 2008 (PDT)

Super fancy volcano terminology

Under the Island-Geography-Volcanic activity, I added an external ref to the Wiki article on calderas and volcanic craters, saying the Barracks could possibly be in one of those.  Kevrock   talk  contribs   14:54, 13 June 2008 (PDT)

bring back the casualties petition

After the events that happend with deleting the 5 casualty articles, me and some other users started a petition for bringing those articles back on Lostpedia. If you share our opinion on this matter, please sign the "Save The Redshirts" section on my user page. If you want you could contact other users about this or create a "Save the redshirts" section on your user page, because the goal is to get as many users to sign the petition as possible along with 6 SysOps (Admins). I would appriciate a quick respond and a sign on either my user page or User:LostCloverfield42's page. --O r h a n 9 4
