Re:AOTW

Hey, thanks for the summary but I've already rewritten Liz's and added it to the weeklies. If you want some of your stuff integrated to it just ask me cause its a SysOp only edit area. What I've done can be found here. Regards, --Nickb123 (Talk) 03:27, 7 December 2006 (PST)

Transcript linking

Hey BEI, I know you mean well, but please don't edit wikification links into transcripts. You can see the standard set by the other 60 or some transcripts, these are 'special pages' where we don't do this (much like disambig pages) for every link; only for certain things like episode and writer info. I'll put this into the Manual of Style. --PandoraX 03:06, 22 December 2006 (PST)

Re:Main Page Talk (Quotes Within Articles)

Hey, I saw your offer to help. Lost Soul and I are working to get this approved. Tell me what you think. These are the ones I thought would be best:

  • Quotes specific to the main characters on their pages.
  • An important episode quote for episode pages. (Specifically, if the name is said in the episode, we could use that quote)
  • A quote that represents a specific theme on theme pages.

Anyway, that's all I got. We don't want to go overkill. Now we just need to get a sysop's OK to start putting it on pages. It would be great if we got Admin's approval. Do you think we should contact him?--LOCI! 14:06, 16 January 2007 (PST)

Cigarettes

  • I restored the information you deleted off the article for cigarettes, as it was research to determine the origin of the fictional brands seen in Lost (Bilson and Portsmouth). This follows precedence as other articles note when items are seen in sources outside of Lost (e.g. Oceanic Airlines outside of Lost). Sorry for the reversion. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 03:57, 3 February 2007 (PST)
  • I'd rather not my sysop status be the reason for a decision. If you have a rationale, supported by precedence of usage in other articles in Lostpedia, please list it and we can discuss it freely. BTW did you take a look at the Oceanic Airlines article I cited? See the "outside Lost" section. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 04:01, 3 February 2007 (PST)
  • Not sure that's necessary, as it's a minor subcase. The bottom line is that all content should be relevant to Lost in some manner. In these two cases, we have fictional names (for two cigarette brands, and one airline), and the content in question is relevant to determining the possible derivation of those names. Similarly for John Locke's article, there is a section describing the philosopher John Locke, as a possible light shed onto the naming of this main character. I suspect you deleted the content at first because you thought the cigarette brands were real, and in that case, a list of every other television show or film that those cigarettes have appeared in would indeed be content subject to deletion as it would be irrelevant to Lost. If my guess is true, and the fictional status of the brand names has been clarified with you, there should be no longer be a conflict with the current (proposed) MoS as it stands. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 04:20, 3 February 2007 (PST)

Fixed your user page.

Take a look at the change I made to see how I fixed the formatting. --Admin 20:54, 3 February 2007 (PST)

userspace

Please refrain from making edits in my userspace without permission of some sort. It might've been tolerable if your edit was a good one, but it was really quite arbitrary (a wikification), and a bad decision at that since the "Tom" disambig is irrelevant to the topic of the page, as it includes cast & crew & other assorted people from outside the lost storyline, and therefore outside the scope of the article. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 02:48, 7 February 2007 (PST)

  • ah I see, I do that too a lot (go through recent edits). No harm no foul =) -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 01:20, 8 February 2007 (PST)

Article Attack

Hey, congrats you win the AAA for the relationships article. Thanks for helping fix it up, it had kinda been left half-decorated for ages. voice actors

Hey thanks for you help creating voice actor articles. Please make sure that if you are going to contribute, rather than making stub articles, please make sure that you do use the proper voice actor infobox. Also please do a bit of research, to find some external links, especially to IMDB, as well as Wikipedia, as well as that country's wikipedia (e.g. it.wikipedia.org. Also give a good try to find the talent agency's webpage (often a foreign site) for that voice actor. Thanks again! -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 02:16, 26 February 2007 (PST)

  • Oh my mistake probably then... I thought you saw a whole slew of red links over at voice actors. There you'll find a lot of other articles to use as models. Thanks again, you're awesome! -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 02:22, 26 February 2007 (PST)

Hey, thanks for your work on the Maggie Grace article, you win the AAA medal for your efforts. It was disappointing to see some plaigerism, so thanks for sorting all that out. Userpage correction

Your page states that: "Chuck accidentally found the Lostpedia Interest while hiding from ninjas on the Island. " Good sir, Mr. Norris doesn't hide....he waits in ambush.  ;)

Seriously though, saw the spat you've had on User talk:Revmax. I don't think its very kocher for a person to wipe their talk page. After reading the old versions, I would agree if you feel the need to get an admin involved. Personal attacks are never warranted. If he had only said the initial Comic Book Guy line, then he could play that off as he tried. But as he continued to be rude, I don't believe it to be non-attackish. I'm also pretty sure I just invented the word 'attackish'   Hooper   talk    contribs    email   09:57, 26 March 2007 (PDT)

Also, subnote, saw the user boxes on your page. Is their a guide somewhere as to how to make those, or is rather simple? I'd like to make one for mine but wouldn't know where to start.   Hooper   talk    contribs    email   10:02, 26 March 2007 (PDT)

trivia

  • see User:Santa/Lost_trivia for a list of completed episodes. Choose any other episodes. I had originally asked for 20, then I end up writing another 20 for the same ep., so that was too low. Therefore I'm requesting about 40 questions per episode. Remember you are allowed to rephrase the same question. For example 1) for a quote question, you can ask to complete one word in the quote, complete multiple words (or the whole quote), or ask which character said that quote; 2) for a list of any sort, say A, B, C, you can ask A, B, ___, or A, C, ___, or B, C, ____ etc.; 3) for a difficult answer, you can make a second variant where the answer is easier, e.g. Libby's occupation was a clinical ________ (psychologist), or you can ask ______ ________ (clinical psychologist). Remember that you MUST have easy questions as well as medium and hard questions... even questions that are obvious to Lostpedians, e.g. Walt's father is _______. Also search the episode summary for questions on cultural references, e.g. books, music, nicknames, etc. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 00:46, 20 April 2007 (PDT)
  • Drop me an email using lostpedia's email link. I'm a bit busy this week, so there may be some delay getting them up. Thanks again!-- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 04:11, 24 April 2007 (PDT)

casting

A couple points: it is not spamming or self promotion, since the information nor article was listed by the person in question. Secondly, IMO it is business information trivia, much like we have the addresses listed for ABC, Grass Skirt Productions/Hawaii Film Studio, and even the former location of GSP during S1. We have many similar web and real world links in many articles, such as URLs for webpages and videos, or myspace pages and talent agent pages for cast. It's not self-promotion, and nor is it written as promotional material. It's simply fact with respect to the process of how the film crew in Hawaii (and the writing/editing in LA) operates. Hope that makes some sort of sense. The reversion had nothing to do with you personally, if that is what you are asking. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 21:15, 20 July 2007 (PDT)

  • Oh, I think I see what you were looking at. There was a user heavily editing that article recently, but no, that user didn't add the address. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T 21:25, 20 July 2007 (PDT)

Bunny

In regards to: [1], it looks like you are proposing that the user should "leave it alone", because the user is the only one "to complain so far". This logic seems faulty. Should all users refrain from posting "complaints" if noone else has "complained" so far? It would also be preferable if people could use the main-space talk pages to discuss the merits of a given proposal rather than attacking a user, ie, "You can't stop going on about article names can you?" -- Dagg talk contribs4 8 06:47, 24 July 2007 (PDT)

Images

  • Hello there! I see you've been categorising images :). And I just wanted to know if you're doing them in some kind of order (i.e. "Pilot, Part 1", then "Pilot, Part 2", and so on), or just randomly? Also, what I do when I'm catting images is to just put a brief description of what the picture details. I just think it looks better. But hey, if you don't want to do that you don't have to. :D --   Lost Soul   talk  contribs  01:57, 31 July 2007 (PDT)
    • Totally up to you, mate. I would suggest doing it in some kind of order so we know what has and hasn't been done. How about you start doing Season One in order? Starting from "Pilot, Part 1"? That way, you'll know what has and hasn't been done and stuff. Might just be easier in the long run. I'm still in the process of making all the cats. --   Lost Soul   talk  contribs  02:07, 31 July 2007 (PDT)

RE: Interviews

It's not up to me. I asked plktrn to put something in Mediawiki:Newarticletext, and I think something should be put on the main page... but nothing. As I'm not a SysOp, what I can do is limited. Lots of questions have been posted on the forums, though. I would have thought some wiki editors would have wanted some clarification over some things, from one of the creative team, but clearly not.--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  01:22, 27 April 2008 (PDT)
