Yes, I'm just that awesome. You couldn't resist clicking, could you.

Heh, nope, couldn't resist. Good work on the debunking of the St. Sebastian website. Tibbalt 17:31, 5 June 2006 (PDT)
Thanks! I'm still getting used to the wiki/lostpedia editing format around here, but I love the contributions of others around here, and the skepticism (which I find a good thing). You guys rock! --PandoraX 06:43, 7 June 2006 (PDT)

How did you find the Rachel Blake monster.com video? I think you were the first to post it here... --Jajasoon 09:44, 17 June 2006 (PDT)

Jasoon--just answered in your talk and also in Clues discussion page for that day... cheers.

Thanks so much Cool Man, you're the best! I'm going to use it for the other 5 DJ Dan transcripts...

I'm happy i could help you :)

Orientation Training Video

I was trying to upload this file (warning: very large) with the stills from the video enlarged and slightly sharpened but it seems the file is too big for lostpedia... These are in order of appearance, you might have noticed that the movie loops through them twice. Antiuser 01:46, 20 June 2006 (PDT)

I was under the impression that I had all the frames... I reverse-engineered the .swf file from the hanso site and exported the video as a sequence of still frames then went through all of them eliminating the repeats and wrote a php script to composite them all onto 1 big image. Which frame was it that I missed? Antiuser 17:17, 20 June 2006 (PDT)

Antiuser: You know, I looked through them again, and you actually did a great job. I originally thought you had 100 images, but I counted the rows wrong. It turns out you had 110... I have 114, but I wonder if some of it is fade in and out stuff from the first few scenes (see last row 112-114), and also not seeing #111 (single ripple on a pond). But you did a great job overall... you pretty much got all the big ones. -PandoraX 19:09, 20 June 2006 (PDT)
Yeah, I deleted all the transitional and interlace frames, might've lost one or 2 in the process. Thanks! Antiuser 10:25, 21 June 2006 (PDT)

I'm sorry, maybe I'm being thick, but what is this? --Fezir 17:31, 20 June 2006 (PDT)

Fezir: This is webmazish material for the Lost Experience... if you don't play the ARG, you wouldn't know about it... check here if interested: http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Psychology_Test_Orientation_Video

DJ Dan Transcripts

hey, no problem about the transcript for 6/21 --Phmall 17:22, 21 June 2006 (PDT)

  • I was hoping someone would make an article for Dr. Kini. I added the lost template to the article, as well I put it under the Category of Characters in The Lost Experience. --Phmall

Mrs.Calabash

Good call on the catchphrase thing, was very interesting --Nickb123 (Talk) 10:57, 3 July 2006 (PDT)

Thanks! I don't know if you wrote that in the theories section, but I agree... I think it points to RB having a relative in the story, and I personally think it is Valenzetti. Going to post in theories now. --PandoraX 11:00, 3 July 2006 (PDT)

Yeah it was me and it seems so obvious. Her life remains a key mystery and I think there must be some strong revalation about her past. I don't know about Valenzetti though, I know RB is important but if she was the daughter it'd make her sound like the Chosen One. I'd prefer the Mittlewerk relation (hence the need for disguise and the almost recognition....) --Nickb123 (Talk) 11:13, 3 July 2006 (PDT)

So it was real

Hey Pandora, hows it goin? I thought the Mandrake thing was real! But then I couldn't find evidence on myspace of the actual message so took it off. Nice bit of sleuthing by you --Nickb123 (Talk) 15:38, 13 July 2006 (PDT)

No problem Nick, I was just looking at the link anyway. I totally respect the fact that you are cautious with putting stuff on the main page and wait til you have a source... I am the same way! Much better than the crap that sometimes gets added as 'clues' :) --PandoraX 15:51, 13 July 2006 (PDT)

Speaking of fake clues, this is also fake but I give major credit to it being the best I've ever seen. It had a few of us on the Blake boards going [1]. Its quite cool, shame it was associated with a known fake site or I might have believed it. I'm sure you've already seen it but cool huh --Nickb123 (Talk) 15:59, 13 July 2006 (PDT)
Ah yes, the hoffittfilms Video. I have definitely seen it, in fact, a few of us have written about it here: http://videorearchlost.blogspot.com/ (My entry is in the middle of that blog) I would say it's actually not completely denounced as fake yet (though I initially would have given that verdict, also... read on about how stills from that video made it into the orientation testing issues film, and the JWH flicker album) Not enough yet that I would put anything on a main canon page for lostpedia, but enough to keep me suspicious and not pass final judgement yet. --PandoraX 16:30, 13 July 2006 (PDT)

Hmm very interesting picture comparisons there, definitely exceptionally made if its a fake (enough to warrant an article on lostpedia in my view). I think its fake though cause there's never been reference to a Hanso Industries (the past name for the Foundation?). Still its so well made, and like the HANSO above the IBM building was photoshopped so professionally. Guess we'll just have to wait and see --Nickb123 (Talk) 16:35, 13 July 2006 (PDT)

Hey, willing to help transcribe the ultima DJ Dan podcast? If so, go here. Good luck if you've chosen to accept your mission... you're going to need it!!! --Nickb123 (Talk) 10:44, 12 August 2006 (PDT)

Hello... regarding that mp3 download you posted for DJ Dan's Podcast, how do you get the file? I followed the link but hit a dead-end as there is nowhere on the page concerning the download of the file. --Marik7772003 11:34, 12 August 2006 (PDT)

Thanks for that link and the info. It really is a lot faster than torrent. --Marik7772003 11:39, 12 August 2006 (PDT)

Well done on finishing Pandora! We'll chat in the DJ Dan talk page --Nickb123 (Talk) 14:57, 12 August 2006 (PDT)
Great job Pandora! Thanks for your hard work on this! --Jajasoon 15:22, 12 August 2006 (PDT)

I was just pointing out the similarity, I won't add it as its not that funny and also it isn't advertising as such like your other ones. I'll keep looking though in the pop n fresh areas of advertisement lol --Nickb123 (Talk) 14:27, 13 August 2006 (PDT)

Ur so cool!!! I love that in a lostpedian, working very hard to uncover clues and making transcripts while allowing herself to just goof around. Keep up the awesome job! Thanks for making us the best there is! --†††GodEmperorOfHell††† 18:40, 13 August 2006 (PDT)

It walks like a troll and quacks like a troll, is it a troll?

The question is less obvious than you think: personality alone is no grounds for banning: for instance; my favorite jerk, Captain Insano, sure he is loud and he has bullied newbies in the past, but knows when to stop ajavascript:insertTags('--†††GodEmperorOfHell††† 21:19, 13 August 2006 (PDT)',,);nd is largely a positive contributor. I will always assume good faith. It is only by repeated bullying and repeated complaints by the rest of you that we will take action. Believe me, we allmighty sysops have our yellow alert list and know how to deal with them. I am a former troll myself and know one when I see it. --†††GodEmperorOfHell††† 20:59, 13 August 2006 (PDT)

I bet he was 10 minutes from uploading some images to your user page of what he imagined the "real" PandoraX would look like... --Jajasoon 21:01, 13 August 2006 (PDT)

I added you to my MySpace friends. Hope you don't mind. --†††GodEmperorOfHell††† 21:19, 13 August 2006 (PDT)

It's not easy to be green.

My amazing sysop powers tell me these guys are only the latest incarnation of the same guy. But they are nothing like the vandals of yore, how i long for the epic battles with Bob or the Natedog/Novajoe incident, those were clash of titans!. but these are just minor nuisances. I can smite them in a single spat, Sigh. It's like using the whole justice league to catch a shoplifter. --†††GodEmperorOfHell††† 05:05, 14 August 2006 (PDT)

Yeap. And hope its alright to leave you guys sorting this out. I mean its easier for you to fix than I, and I've just found a tub of pringles in the kitchen. I'm gonna kick back if thats alright and let you flex some of that might you "mighty SysOps" have :-) --Nickb123 (Talk) 05:44, 14 August 2006 (PDT)
To delete pic vandalism no, but you can revert back to a previous image just like SysOps can revert back to previous text. Click the image you wanna revert and it shows the history under the image. Next to the version you want to have back theres an option saying "rev" and it'll do it for you. It can take a few minutes though for the image to change but it will work --Nickb123 (Talk) 05:48, 14 August 2006 (PDT)

Oh thanks Nick. Maybe it's cuz you have to wait a few minutes. Me no patient. :( --PandoraX 05:50, 14 August 2006 (PDT)

Ditto Nick on the pics. As for reverting, I'm rolling back all of Hmm's stuff, so it's really easy for me to do basic vandals. If you find anything more insidious, tag it for me or God... --Jajasoon 05:51, 14 August 2006 (PDT)

I remember the first time I reverted pics Pandora, I couldn't figure it out and did it like 20 times before it worked. Its something to do with the brower cache I think - dunno. But all your pic reverts seem to be done now. And I kinda had five pringles, put em away and felt guilty for not helping.... --Nickb123 (Talk) 06:05, 14 August 2006 (PDT)
Also added ya on Myspace, hope thats ok --Nickb123 (Talk) 06:54, 14 August 2006 (PDT)

The eight curse words.

You are right on the money, Dear. PG-13 is the rating to go. However I recommend a heading: CAUTION WARNUNG PELIGRO ACHTUNG AGUAS when dealing with potentially raunchy talk. The eight curse words are better if avoided (well, we do have an article on Mindfuck, but it is a relevant concept and it is properly explained). I don't know if you have seenn my draft of LostPedia:Parody guidelines, where I have put my ideas on humor. I will gladly appreciate your criticisms on this. --†††GodEmperorOfHell††† 11:58, 14 August 2006 (PDT)

I agree with the PG-13 goal. A few curse words are fine where appropriate (but never directed at other Lostaways, dammit!), and sexual content that doesn't get too explicit. Our site should be sure not to offend the average Lost viewer, and should have warnings when it might... --Jajasoon 13:00, 14 August 2006 (PDT)

Theories

You really are going to town on the theories. (in a good way) --Phmall 15:46, 14 August 2006 (PDT)

Great... now I have CHuck Norris to worry about. :) --Marik7772003 15:49, 14 August 2006 (PDT)

Warning template

Not a problem for making that template...It was especially designed for a page like the Bald, Limp Guy (theory) page. Hopefully we can put this template to good use with some other parodies or maybe even some raunchy Kate/Hurley fanfiction (: --Aero*Zeppelin 16:21, 14 August 2006 (PDT)

LOL! Completely ironic that it would take one to religious pages! I did set it to use the Randompage feature, and I'm off to fix the typo! --Aero*Zeppelin 16:23, 14 August 2006 (PDT)

Gosh do I have to do everything around here? lol, maybe, but for the past 2 hours I've been trying to sort through marvincandle.com. --Phmall 18:10, 15 August 2006 (PDT)

Somewhere between the crazy theories and the trancsribathalon as nick calls it, you made it to the "upper echelon" of lostpedia, the cool users list on my userpage. --Phmall 10:02, 17 August 2006 (PDT)
P.S. Echelon is an awesome word.

Mickey and Kirsten

  • Thanks for the research PX, it's much appreciated! Incidentally I just ran into Mickey Graue's aunt last week, she whipped out a photo of him in her purse. Revert Stuff

Hey Pandora, I've seen you revert stuff in the past, so was wondering if you'd look over the changes I've made to Lostpedia:Reverting. I don't get how to do it that much but it needed a rewrite. Could ya delete/change anything I've gotten wrong, or add other ways of reverting I'm not aware of. Cheers me dearz --Nickb123 (Talk) 13:14, 18 August 2006 (PDT)

Well yeah, I used to always keep OG updated on blake posts and vids, but then when the international glyphs came along I just kinda chatted to her about theories and stuff when episodes air in the UK. Sorry to bother ya again, but at the mo sigs aren't working right and are showing the whole formula when we sign etc. I noticed that yours needs another </font> at the end, cause otherwise anyone after ya carries on with that font of yours. Hopefully it'll be fixed soon! --Nickb123 (Talk) 12:27, 20 August 2006 (PDT)

Jabberwock told me how to fix it. Create a page called User:PandoraX/autosig and put on it. Then go up to your preferences and under nickname put . Ask me if you have any questions.--CaptainInsano 12:57, 20 August 2006 (PDT)
In response to what you said on Captain's page, I'm the same, I always C&P cause otherwise I lose my edits. I think the only way around it is just to whenever possible use the sub-edits for each section of an article - that way if two users edit two diff parts it doesn't conflict. Otherwise I'd just say keep C&Ping - it ain't too much of a hassle --Nickb123 (Talk) 13:09, 20 August 2006 (PDT)
Yeah same thing with me, copy just incase.--CaptainInsano

Protected.

You are welcome. In fact that was the same reason I protected Box, you don't mess with perfection. Besides. you don't even remotely look as a member of the Klan. Any additions you might have don't hesitate to ask for unprotection (although It would be a brief one)--†††GodEmperorOfHell††† 17:37, 20 August 2006 (PDT)

Template:Spoof??

We need a category for all our original funny articles to difference them from external homages. Maybe we should create a new template to difference tyhem from non canon and original content. --†††GodEmperorOfHell††† 18:12, 20 August 2006 (PDT)

1) You are right, the only difference is locally hosted and externally made. What about they are all in the parody category and create a new section. Unfortunately I cannot think for the moment in a name that can encompass The award winning Box and Chuck Norris.
2) We had a small problem with the update but it's OK now, only registered users can edit and post. --†††GodEmperorOfHell††† 18:20, 20 August 2006 (PDT)

Burning question...

Sorry if I am formulating this question the wrong way (i don't want you to think i'm hittin' on you) Why does a nice-looking girl like yourself spend so much time editing and in forums? you are pretty enough to have a very interesting offline life, aren't you?. --†††GodEmperorOfHell††† 17:37, 25 August 2006 (PDT)

You saying the rest of us aren't hot?! How do you know I'M not, I'm a kick ass teen looking to become a doctor of counselling psychology. Don't tarnish me with your brush :-p - nah kidding, obviously... Anywayz, hey Pandora, couple of things. One, just wanted to say your whereisalvar pic rocks, I'd just been watching a show on crooked sales pitches using doctor/police officer endorsements, so your pic was well timed. Also, about edit conflicts, I've noticed that wit the new system update, if there's a conflict the difference is shown at the bottom of the page, so now there's no more need for C&Ping so thats a good. Anyway speak to ya soon (and have you searched for your name on Speaker's latest comments board? People singin your praises again) --Nickb123 (Talk) 03:08, 26 August 2006 (PDT)

Bigspaceship1

I wish we were back in the days this site updated constantly, it was really cool to see and decode cryptic messages, it was a really cool preview of what the LOST experience is now. A new movie, a morse message and a link to a page I would never have visited otherwise. That site took me to galleries of circus poster art and North Korean propaganda. It was like swimming through murky waters looking for gold. Alas, when it was proved to be a fansite it all fell through. I beg you to explore some of those links with the same sense as Alice in Wonderland, see places you would never have seen otherwise, go through the rabbit hole. --†††GodEmperorOfHell††† 19:24, 26 August 2006 (PDT)

upload warning.

you are right about worrying, the transfer rate would be spectacular if we were to have too many enormous images. however there is enough space to hold all these and an occasional big one will not affect much, the caveat is; try not to do it a lot. --†††GodEmperorOfHell††† 19:57, 26 August 2006 (PDT)

Cove

Excellent choice of title for the new page about the cove. Simplicity in titles is always best. Just one thing, however: if possible, I'd suggest to move it from "The Cove" to "Cove". That would make it like the other similar location names that are not proper names, such as "camp", "garden", "church", "graveyard", "waterfall", etc. (although, of course, they can still be piped to appear as "the camp", "the waterfall", "the cove", etc., in the navigation bar). Reason: Most page titles will likely be used in links that form part of normal sentences in the other pages of the encyclopeadia. Therefore, page titles are always more user-friendly if they are written, when possible, in such a way that will allow them to be used in any possible turn of a normal sentence. That is the reason why the inclusion of articles or/and capital letters (other than the very first letter) in page titles often cause difficulties. Example: In an article about, say, Desmond, it will be more convenient to write "the sailboat was anchored in a cove" instead of having to pipe the link and write "the sailboat was anchored in a cove. (In this example, see how both the article and the capital C get in the way). Yes, I know, we can find many examples where page titles are not always written like this. In some cases it is because they're considered proper names of buildings (like the Dharma stations "The Swan" "The Flame", etc.), so that's fine because that's also how they will be written in a normal sentence in other pages. In some other cases I suspect it's just a mistake or because people haven't really thought about it. But IMHO I think it's better to use the user-friendly method whenever possible because it makes it easier for everyone in the long term. Ok, sorry for that lengthy explanation. Instead of just making the suggestion, I thought you'd also like to know the rationale behind it. Cheers 15:27, 1 September 2006 (PDT)

move

  • Actually this is one of my n00b areas. Some articles conveniently have a MOVE tab easily available, in which case you simply move the article: provide the new name, and reason, and that's all. The histories are moved automatically too. However I think some articles are admin move-protected, in which case you have to ask for an unprotect. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T21:25, 1 September 2006 (PDT)
    • Oh, btw I agree with that move, I'd been thinking along those lines too but already wanted to be polite as I'd already created "Logos" where "The Logos" already existed. But as it stands now, it makes more sense. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T21:26, 1 September 2006 (PDT)

Re: Vandal...

Thanks a lot, didn't know you could do that (thought it would damage the page). I've left a message on GEOH's talk page concerning the vandal, so hopefully him or somebody else will pick it up. Thanks again, --Gateboy42 07:15, 2 September 2006 (PDT)

Editing articles

I have a distinct memory that I have said this before, but as a sysop my job gets increasingly difficult when the recent changes list is filled too quick, it can only hold 500 entries. One of the reason it gets filled is when people save before previewing their edits, and while editing the whole article they do it one subheading at a time. The less people do this the easier it will become to spot vandals etc.

So just a friendly hint, preview before you save and edit the whole article instead of each subheading when possible. I appreciate the work you do on Lostpedia but try to keep these few hints in mind. Thanks. --skks 09:55, 5 September 2006 (PDT)

Re:UK Hunt

Well apparently its going on til 5pm and I can't do it, so I'm gonna go for an hour and thats it. I don't know what Other Girl means cause she won't tell me anything, if its a five hour window thats fine but if its a five hour scavenger hunt I can't stay for that cause of college at 2pm (and unfortunately I'm in a bad position there cause I'm close to being kicked out...long story) --Nickb123 (Talk) 10:59, 5 September 2006 (PDT)

Update won't work.

Worry not. Chances are your browser is reloading the page from the cache. You can get rid of the cached pages (look in preferences). A handy shortcut is Ctrl+Shift+R (windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (macintosh) to reload without using the cache. (don't know if it works on MSIE under WinXP)--†††GodEmperorOfHell††† 11:50, 5 September 2006 (PDT)

I use ?action=purge at the end of a website address too which works. So for instance, www.lostpedia.com?action=purge and it does the trick --Nickb123 (Talk) 11:51, 5 September 2006 (PDT)

Deleted Scenes - Canon?

I see your point about not including the deleted scenes within character profiles or description of events that actually made the cut of the originally aired program. I guess we'll see what feedback we get from the Deleted Scenes Talk. I'm cool with moving it to the deleted scenes page, I just thought it was an interesting tidbit about Rose that we didn't know previously. BTW, the Season 2 DVD is awesome! I highly recommend watching the Sawyer bonus feature.--scocub

Category:Lostaways

  • Padora, your's says when it is supposed to be . See it is the first letter in your Username, exlcuding "User:".--CaptainInsano 14:38, 5 September 2006 (PDT)

I need your help

Dear Empress of the hidden face; As you see the original parody articles have come under fire. You have shown in the past uncanny ability to coordinate the forces that brought the Box to prominence. I will trust your judgement on this; which parody theories do you honestly consider that should get the ax? which ones are you not willing to let go? --†††GodEmperorOfHell††† 20:54, 5 September 2006 (PDT)

I get your point, nobody has suddendly put you in a responsibility of power against your wishes, but you have some l33t comedy skillz. that makes your opinion valuable... --†††GodEmperorOfHell††† 12:58, 6 September 2006 (PDT)

I understand your stance too Pandora. There is room for high quality parodies, but I worry that as you correctly understand, we could be on a slippery slope to having all kinds of parodies. We should take them on a case by case basis. I have created a new template to add to comedy parodies, and made it clear with brackets that all of these articles are parody theories. I think for now, that will suffice while we wait for votes. We do have to look at the quality of writing on a lot of them though. --plkrtn 13:58, 6 September 2006 (PDT)

Lost Connections

Hey there, I posted this in Santa's talk page but I figured I'd ask you too since you are so wise in the ways of Lostpedia. I have some screencaps of the Lost Connections piece from the DVD. Is there any coypright problem if I upload them and add them to the Season 2 DVD page? --scocub

I'm just going to go for it I'm sure they will be removed expeditiously if I am wrong :) --scocub

I created a seperate page for Lost Connections because the S2 DVD page was getting too long. It is the first page I've created from scratch so let me know if you see any errors.--scocub

Noooo!

I'm sure you've heard....another live broadcast....does he hate us or something? --Nickb123 (Talk) 07:56, 8 September 2006 (PDT)

Cool. BTW I'm on our chat. Care to join me? --Nickb123 (Talk) 12:15, 8 September 2006 (PDT)

Stubs

Sorry you've become my "go to person" for questions, I hope you don't mind. I just wanted to know how remove an article's "stub" status. The specific article I'm looking at is the Alcohol page. Do you think this still qualifies as a stub?--scocub

  • Thanks for the info. I de-stubbed it and cleaned it up a little bit. I also added it to the items category.--scocub

Transcripts

They're a lot shorter than I thought they'd be. Is e.g. the Tabula Rasa one the ENTIRE thing??? --Nickb123 (Talk) 15:19, 8 September 2006 (PDT)

Hey sorry I didn't move any, doing my Uni application so I'm being lazy and just hanging on a few boards today. Sorry to make you do it all --Nickb123 (Talk) 08:08, 9 September 2006 (PDT)
Pandora - got an idea. At the end of every episode on Lostpedia do you wanna put:

For a full episode transcript, see here

Would be good. Just a thought, --Nickb123 (Talk) 10:48, 9 September 2006 (PDT)

K well I'll add links on the Season 1 episode guides, you do Season 2. See how I do pilot in a minute for a format k? --Nickb123 (Talk) 10:48, 9 September 2006 (PDT)
Done, but I'm not a US fan, am I right in putting exodus 1 under part 1, and transcripts for 2 and 3 under episode 2? --Nickb123 (Talk) 10:48, 9 September 2006 (PDT)
  • Error- The transcript page for 1x19 actually has the 1x20 transcript. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T15:21, 12 September 2006 (PDT)

-Erm, I'm not quite sure where to put this, Pandora, but I wanted to say that I'm so grateful that I could do something to help the Lost Experience community for once. A newly-hatched Lostling such as myself is elated to learn I contributed in some small way. Thanks for spearheading this transcription process, it's great to see the final project! --Ava 05:59, 26 September 2006 (PDT)

Puzzle

I have emailed you what the puzzle said, I saw the email button before I noticed this page. I wrote down everything that was on the back and the numbers. Some of the numbers I wasn't 100% about either because of the handwriting or because of the glow in the dark paint. If you don't get the email let me know and I'll re-type it all here. p0pnfresh

Thanks...

  • for reverting the edits on my userpage, this asshole doesn't know what he is getting himself into.--CaptainInsano 14:37, 13 September 2006 (PDT)

One Last Time

You knew it was coming - Talk:DJ Dan live broadcasts - this time, its personal. Last time was hell, this time will be the same, but it'll be the last thing we ever do with the the game I reckon. If you wanna transcribe again, and no-one would blame you if you didn't, then sign on the page. Thanks! --Nickb123 (Talk) 13:12, 22 September 2006 (PDT)

lostpedia access

  • try any of the sites listed here. Just enter www.lostpedia.com in the field. I tried 'radical overthrow' and it seemed to work fine. The alternative is that your IE might come preconfigured with proxy settings, and it might give you access if you remove those, but I don't really use windows nor IE much so you're on your own for that workaround.-- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T16:15, 25 September 2006 (PDT)
