Hello!
- My name is Alex. I'm a male undergrad at Baltimore's Goucher College working towards a Bachelor's in Biology. I transferred here after taking some time off from school, during which I worked with wild birds as a biological field research assistant in Pennsylvania. I have a wide range of interests. My biology spark was ignited through birding - a kind of extreme, manic sub-culture within what is colloquially termed the "birdwatching" world. Before I got into field biology I used to be a physics guy. I also am big on music; I took a decent amount of music theory in school, I've sang in choirs and a cappella groups since grade school, I've played drums for over a decade, and I mess around with piano and guitar. I play ultimate frisbee and disc golf. I also work as a camp counselor in the summers.
Birds on Lostpedia
Any LOST questions regarding birds I'd be happy to help tackle. My expertise as a field biologist pertains mostly to North America, but I have a good knowledge base and a good number of resources available to me. For reference, see specifics on the Silver Gull from Par Avion.

My LOST Obsession
When the show first came out I knew I wanted to get into it, but I just wasn't following the networks. It was only after I bought the 1st Season on DVD and watched it through, successively in 2 days, when I became hooked. Season 2 and on I've been following as it comes. I watch LOST pretty religiously; it is in fact currently the only show I watch besides the news (I'm trying a whole new "no TV" thing - of course this doesn't apply to LOST).
