My Top 5 Favourite LOST Characters

#5: James "Sawyer" Ford
I am probably the only female on the planet who doesn't love Sawyer. In fact, for quite some time I downright hated him. He takes fifth solely on the basis that he gets all the good lines. His sarcasm and wit are unmatched on the island and even I will admit that he is pretty damn funny. I do pity his childhood situation, but I wish he hadn't gone the route he did in seeking his revenge (becoming the man he hated, etc).
#4: Alexandra Rousseau/Linus
Not a major character, but one of my favourites. Despite being raised by Ben (who, regardless of what he says, is not a good person) and living amongst the others, she still manages to be a good person. I thoroughly enjoy the similarities between her and her mother, even though (until recently) the two had never met. Apparently, survival instincts are genetic. And for the love of God, don't give that girl a slingshot when she's pissed.
#3: Charlie Pace
Did the events at the end of season 3 make me put Charlie higher on this list than I might have otherwise? Yes, yes they did. But it's not just his martyrdom that made him such a great character. He was funny, he overcame a heroin addiction (on top of not doing it for quite some time while his brother/everyone around him was), oh- and he's British. As in "has a British accent" and "uses words like sodding". Yeah, hot.
#2: Sun-Hwa Kwon
This character has impressed me since Day 1 and it is all due to the wonderful choice of casting. The actress who portrays Sun is so skilled at speaking through her eyes that the entire time she was feigning not knowing English we were still able to understand her. Give an actress like that a storyline like Sun's (complete with overbearing fathers/husbands and an undying need to be independent), and you've got a top-notch character.
#1: Sayid Jarrah
Smart: check. Funny: check. Hot: check. What more can a girl ask for? So maybe he tortured some folks years ago, and okay- maybe he's tortured a few more since he got on the island... but it was justified. Right? Regardless, this man is probably the most important character next to Jack (how can you beat a doctor?) due to his impressive knowledge of practically any and every thing that might help them get off the island. Radios, satellite phones, helicopters... Oh- and on top of all that, he's very, very intuitive. He knows if you're lying, he knows if you're spying, and he knows if it's worth torturing you. Very handy guy to have around.
