'The child has grown, the dream has gone, I have become comfortably numb'- But my dear man, reality is only a Rorschach ink-blot, you know. Anybody who is 25 or 30 years old has physical scars from all sorts of things, from tuberculosis to polio. It's the same with the mind. The conscious mind may be compared to a fountain playing in the sun and falling back into the great subterranean pool of subconscious from which it rises. To mature means to take responsibility for your life, to be on your own. Psychoanalysis fosters the infantile state by considering that the past is responsible for the illness.
People are like stained glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun's out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is light within. Education is not just the filling of a pail, it is the lighting of a fire. Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens. The only normal people are the one's you don't know very well. If the human brain were so simple that we could understand it, we would be so simple that we couldn't. During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act. The concept is absurd. The idea that we can only be complete with another person is evil! Right? My uncle used to say that we like people for their qualities but we love them for their defects. 'The main trouble is there are too many people who don't know where they're going, and they want to get there too fast' -

First of all let me tell you how I got in touch with Lost. When the series first aired in my country (The Netherlands), I didn't really feel like watching it. The plot seemed vague and I thought it would probably have a hype start and end after 1 or 2 seasons. Then, about halfway into season 2 (US time), I was having a break from school. I decided to check the stores if there was anything worth buying to kill some time, and ended up buying the first season of Lost. After hearing so much positive comments about it, and hearing stories about the mysteriousness, I decided to just buy it. I was blown away by the pilot, and was hooked to the mystery ever since. I watched season one and the first half of season 2 in a few days. Since then thursday morning is my favorite time of the week! Because then I can see the new Lost, which is mostly on the internet by then. In my country they are about 9 episodes behind, and I really can't live with the feeling that there are 9 more episodes then what is on TV, and I haven't seen them. What do I like about Lost? First of all, the production is absolute top-class. The acting, the directing, the writing, the shots, the character development, the music, and ofcourse the mystery. I used to break my head about what the hell is going on on the island, but now I just watch to enjoy, and try and be as transparant as possible. That really helps if you want to be surprised. I would like to point out a favorite character, but that's impossible for me. Every time a character has a flashback, you get to know that person a bit more, and you sometimes recognize certain things in them. So I guess I can say that I can relay to about every person on the island in some way. The best newly introduced character sinds the start of the series, is without a doubt Benjamin Linus. Michael Emerson is amazing in that role, and the awkwardness and mystery of the character is intriguing. I also find the psychological aspects very interesting. The fact that a lot of characters are named after famous philosophers, is a sign to me that this series might be all about philosophy and psychology. I have read some very interesting articles about electromagnetism, and the effect it can have on a human's magnetic field. Terms as good/bad, black/white etc, are very important to the story of Lost. And I can't wait to hear more about the magic box story. I think that, if you watch Lost for the action and because you want direct answers, you're not watching the right show. The power of this series lies in it's deeper meaning, and in the mystery itself. Season 3 is great in a way that it has been very revealing about the island untill now, but it is also a bit sad because you get the feeling that the turning point has been reached. From piling up mysteries, to revealing them bit by bit. But I can't say that I'm not super curious about the entire plot. There are hundreds of questions left unaswered as for now, so I'm sure there will be a few big revelations that will clear up a lot of them at the same time.
