Tom Brennan is a relative of the Brennan mentioned in Rousseau's distress signal
Tom Brennan is the Brennan mentioned in Rousseau's distress signal. Rousseau's research vessel left port years after Oceanic Flight 815 disappeared but, due to a time paradox, the research vessel arrived on the island 16 years before the plane crashed.
- Even if this theory is true, and the research vessel indeed left years after the plane crash (it probably isn't, since The Others seem to come and go as they please and Desmond and Kelvin's timelines correspond with that of the survivors), Tom Brennan could not have been on it, as he died several years prior to it.
