The Room
Main Discussion
Theories may be removed if ...
  1. Stated as questions or possibilities (avoid question marks, "Maybe", "I think", etc).
  2. More appropriate for another article.
  3. Illogical or previously disproven.
  4. Proven by canon source, and moved to main article.
  5. Speculative and lacking any evidence to support arguments.
  6. Responding to another theory (use discussion page instead).
  • This does not include responses that can stand alone as its own theory.
  • Usage of an indented bullet does not imply the statement is a response.

See the Lostpedia theory policy for more details.

  • The room is some sort of punishment for Walt. Evidence for this is by the fact that he shows genuine fear when threatened.
  • The room is the door that the Others guarded. There is nothing but rock in there so it would cause discomfort and pain. Armed guards are there to prevent him from using his psychic abilities to escape.
  • It is just a room where they put Walt; there's nothing for him to do in there.
  • The room is where they perform experiments on Walt, possibly connected with his paranormal gifts, as alluded by both Tom and Ben during Season 2.
  • The room is a sensory deprivation chamber designed to train Walt (and/or others) in the use of psychic or other paranormal abilities. Evidence for this could come from Walt appearing to Shannon, possibly projecting himself.
  • The room is near the Others' fake camp. Evidence for this could be inferred from Ms. Klugh's threat which seemed as though it would happen immediately if Walt didn't behave, rather than that she would take him all the way to another location and put him there.
  • The room is the same one, or similar to the room where Karl was being brainwashed. Most likely inside the same building as Room 23.
