- The DeGroots are the bodies that were found in the cave, the so-called Adam and Eve.
- This is unlikely as the timeline does not match up. The DeGroots started their project years after the supposed death of Adam and Eve as indicated by their decay.
- According to John in "Deus Ex Machina" it only takes two years for clothes to decay. The DHARMA Initiative was also purged more recently than Jack's "forty to fifty" years, and they are all decomposed in "The Man Behind the Curtain."
- All bets are off regarding timelines. See time on the island (theory).
- This is unlikely as the timeline does not match up. The DeGroots started their project years after the supposed death of Adam and Eve as indicated by their decay.
- Even though we know it was the DeGroots who started the DHARMA Initiative, it is possible that they were also the ones behind the Incident.
- The DeGroots speak Dutch and are the one's who gave Joop his (Dutch) name.
- Joop is on the island and will be used by Ben and The Others as a way to attack the Losties.
- The elderly woman who is seen in the first episode in season 3 at the book club might be Karen Degroot.
- If the DeGroots were in their 30's or late 20's in the 1970s, it would put their age at around 60 years old today.
- This is assuming, of course, that the DeGroots and the Others are in the same intra-island faction.
