The Camp is the Island home to the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. Sawyer has referred to it as Islandtown. Fans sometimes refer to it as the Midsection Beach.

First camp
The middle-section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815 initially set up their camp on the beach where the plane crashed. During this time, they generally sought shelter under parts of the fuselage or slept on the open sand.
The filming location of the first camp is Mokuleia Beach.
Second camp
Around Day 22, the tide changed and began sweeping away the wreckage and the shore. The survivors moved up the beach to an area abutting a sparse pine wood, and began setting up more permanent shelters. Using a combination of tarps, materials scavenged from the plane, and native materials like palm fronds, bamboo, and tree branches, the survivors were able to create a more comfortable living space. Construction increased heavily in the middle of season two, as the survivors seemed to be slowly moving off the beach and into the wood.
Initially some of the survivors moved to the caves, but all of them seem to have returned to the beachfront camp, as have the tail-section survivors who encountered the raft crew on the other side of the Island. The best-known alternative residence was the Swan, aka "the Hatch", where a few (such as Locke) had settled, at least on a temporary basis. This now no longer seems possible due to its destruction at the conclusion of season 2.
As of "There's No Place Like Home, Parts 2 & 3", Vincent and up to 21 people reside at the beach camp:
- Sawyer
- Rose
- Bernard
- Juliet
- Charlotte
- Miles
- Up to 15 Other Background Survivors including Neil, Sullivan, and Richard
Daniel, Craig, Steve, and 3 other survivors were on the zodiac raft when the island moved and are considered missing. Sawyer is the only original 14 main survivors still living at the beach camp.
The filming location of the second camp is Papailoa Beach.
Features
- Charlie and Eko were building a church somewhere near the camp.
- Eko gave up on building the church to push the button, while Charlie continued construction on his own for a while. The frame of the church is now being used to house Locke's Sweat lodge.
- A ping-pong table from the Swan that wasn't destroyed in the station's collapse was set up for recreation. Hurley and Sawyer frequent it the most.
- Seven of the original survivors (Scott, Boone, Shannon, Ana-Lucia, Libby, Nikki and Paulo) of Oceanic Flight 815 are buried in a make-shift graveyard,in a wardened off area near the camp.
- Ethan Rom was also buried by in a field near the campsite by Charlie and Hurley. The marshal is not buried here, as Jack buried Edward Mars in the woods a short distance from the camp. Arzt was not buried, as he was completely destroyed. Mr. Eko is buried between the camp and the Pearl station
Food and Water
- The survivors have a kitchen stocked with DHARMA food collected from the Swan pantry, the pallet drop, and pillaged fruit from the jungle.
- The camp includes several water troughs that deliver a water supply channeled from the Caves (or from rain) that Steve brings to the camp every morning.
- A dining table built by Sayid and Charlie is used for eating and cutting boar.
Residences
- Claire and Aaron lived together in a large shelter.
- Sun and Jin share a tent near Sawyer.
- Hurley lived in a covered shelter next to Sun and Jin.
- Sawyer lived in a large shelter in front of Claire's residence, although he spends much of his time in a first-class airplane seat from the plane wreckage that sits slightly outside his tent "on the porch". ("Maternity Leave")
- Kate lives five tents away from Sawyer. ("The Brig")
- Paulo and Nikki had a shelter together. ("Exposé")
- Shannon lived in a shelter separate from Boone. ("...In Translation")
- Michael and Walt shared a tent that was not taken down after they left on the raft. It presumably still exists. ("Abandoned")
- Libby lived in a structure that Hurley helped her build. ("The 23rd Psalm")
- Arzt lived in a large tent before his death. He kept a large study area where he documented unidentified species.
- There is a "big guy who lives behind Sayid and Scott (Steve)," according to Ana-Lucia. ("Maternity Leave")
- According to Sawyer, Tracy sleeps next to "good ol' Steve to keep her warm at night." It's not clear if they share a tent or just live next door to each other. ("Exodus, Part 1")
- Ana Lucia built a covered structure, but it is unknown if it is still being used after her death.
- Mr. Eko, and briefly Charlie, slept in the area his church was being constructed in. ("?")
- Desmond built a small shelter under a tree after he joined the camp.
- Jack gives Juliet supplies to build her tent upon her arrival on the beach. She uses the lean-to that was used for shade by the survivors. ("One of Us")
- Rose and Bernard share a tent together. ("The Adventures of Hurley and Frogurt")
- With the destruction of the Swan and the abandonment of the caves, along with their subsequent imprisonment by the Others, it is unclear if Jack and Locke have their own shelters, although it is assumed they do.
- Daniel and Charlotte accompanied Jack and Juliet back to the beach. While it is doubtful they made permanent residences, they may be utilizing shelters left by Locke's followers.
Raids / Attacks / Infiltrations
- Ethan Rom infiltrated the survivors camp shortly after the crash. ("A Tale of Two Cities")
- Juliet was sent by Ben to take tests of the women at the beach camp to see if they were pregnant. ("One of Us")
- Ben sent Ryan Pryce and his group of the ten best Others to raid the beach camp and capture the pregnant women in the tents that were marked. All ten of them were killed by the survivors. ("Through the Looking Glass")
Other residents
- Juliet joined the camp after being sent on a mission by Ben. ("One of Us")
- Daniel and Charlotte joined the camp after meeting the survivors. ("Eggtown")
