Template talk:USA
From Lostpedia
I think the "American" should be changed to "Citizen of the United States of America". Otherwise I think we risk starting a flame war. The definition of America being short of the United States of America is ...*uhh*..."quite" suggestive. People from the other countries in North America (as in the continent) would tend to agree with this. --Gateboy42 13:39, 17 August 2006 (PDT)
OK, excuse me, but could you elaborate a bit more on your reasoning? The phrase USA is going to offend others and start a flame war in what way? What is your reasoning? Elaborate instead of just saying "Quite sugestive." Why is it quite suggestive? Why would others agree? |†|[ K i t s u n e ]|†|

- Sorry, I'm overeacting. Read this Wikipedia article, [1].
As an American myself I agree with Gateboy42. (you can't deny I am an american, Mexico is part of the continent) --GodEmperorOfHell 13:48, 17 August 2006 (PDT)
- okay then can i delete the mexico template and you just use this one? Plus it doesn't say the word "America" any where on it says "American" where is what wikipedia has for Americans.--CaptainInsano
- Oh, sorry, I didn't realize that. Mistake. Fixed it. I think you know what I meant to say anyway. --Gateboy42 14:37, 17 August 2006 (PDT)
- I think it should just say "This User is a proud Citizen of the United States of America". It's that easy, it means the exact same thing. Problem solved, end of story. --Gateboy42 14:39, 17 August 2006 (PDT)
- No it isn't, Canadians= Canada Mexicans= Mexico Americans=USA.--CaptainInsano
- Well, gonna tell you the exact same thing I have always argued, you are not the only ones in the goddamn continent, your country has a name use it. Don't use the name of the continent for your parking space. --GodEmperorOfHell 14:49, 17 August 2006 (PDT)
- errrr --kaini. 21:42, 17 August 2006 (PDT)
Result: Category has been moved to USA Fans. America covers both North and South America, not just the USA. Jabberwock talk contribs email
colors
- that font color="red" is giving me a headache, as the brightness is too similar to the blue. Could we change it (and maybe the blue's) hex color values to something that isn't nearly as jarring to look at? In other words, make the blue darker and the red lighter, or vice-versa, or even desaturate just a tad by adding a bit to the other two primary colors. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T14:45, 17 August 2006 (PDT)
