Talk:Woman (Pilot, Part 1)

From Lostpedia

Isn't this title a little too general? Couldn't it disambiguate to like, 100 other pages here? :) --PandoraX 17:05, 10 September 2006 (PDT)

That is her name on imbd, so that is what I put.--CaptainInsano 17:56, 10 September 2006 (PDT)
Surprisingly, it seems that we currently have only 2 articles in the encyclopaedia that comprise "woman" as a part of their name: "Aussie woman" and this one. But yes PandoraX, two can be considered enough for some ambiguity to exist. The best solution is probably to find a more specific designation for the article about Barbara Vidinha's character and then if (and only if) the new designation still comprises the word "woman", we can use the page "woman" as the disambiguation page for the two articles. -- Cheers 18:20, 10 September 2006 (PDT)
How about at least "Woman (from Pilot)"? Would at least clarify which episode. --PandoraX 20:43, 11 September 2006 (PDT)
Yes, that sounds as good as anything else. In the episode she is credited as "woman", just like Geoff Heise is credited as "man". We have nicknamed Heise's character "gas man" to avoid ambiguity. We can name her as you suggest. -- Cheers 10:23, 12 September 2006 (PDT)

On Deleting...

Keep She is a character, and we know the actress that plays her, even if we know nothing about her. Maybe at least put one line about what she was doing in Pilot (even if it was just standing around).--PandoraX 17:05, 10 September 2006 (PDT)

  • Do we have a source other than IMDB? That's not entirely trustworthy as a source. --Piscez 21:18, 11 September 2006 (PDT)
I don't have the link off hand, but there's a script site that has official script copies. Its not 100% official but I'd say it is IMO, and on the Pilot script they do credit "woman" - though in fairness I tried to search for her when I waged war on doing red guest star links, and couldn't find her on the episode. I'm assuming she was just an unspoken extra, but to be creditted on Lost they usually have to speak/be actively addressed. Thus, I dunno if she exists. I still say keep though --Nickb123 (Talk) 04:57, 12 September 2006 (PDT)
I'm guessing her line was something like: "Aaaaaaaahhhhh! Help! Aaaaaaaahhhhh!". I'll take a look at the Pilot DVD when I get some time. This might also help find a good nickname for her to which the article can be renamed. Cheers 06:38, 12 September 2006 (PDT) ETA: I just watched it. Is she the woman with the blue shirt and who falls on her knees? I think she may say something like "Oh God". -- Cheers 10:23, 12 September 2006 (PDT)
  • Keep. If she's credited, then Lostpedia needs and article on her, as we list all guest stars and characters. It's possible her part was cut: note that in some cases, e.g. Philippe, the actor actually filmed lines, but they were cut-- however due to rules of the film industry, they must still be credited. If "Woman" seems to general of an article title, then we can move to "Woman (specifier)". -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T15:05, 15 September 2006 (PDT)
  • Delete--Addude 16:31, 17 September 2006 (PDT) just credit her on the actress page theres nothing here
    • But that would break precedence with the fact the Lostpedia attempts to have articles on all credited guest actors.
  • Delete unless she becomes a "real" part of the show or a real character.

  • Merge because she's a minor background extra; bump to have this taken care of after a year and a half, LOL -- LOSTonthisdarnisland 21:48, 21 March 2008 (PDT)

Redshirt Resource

Hey guys, just wanted to point out this resource for possibly identifying redshirts: http://www.losttv-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2934 Clayseason's been doing a lot of the legwork with chasing down minor actors and actresses; though she does guess (so it's not always conclusive), I think she may be right about a lot of the IDs. You can see that in Barbara Vidhina's case, this is who she thinks it is: http://img234.imageshack.us/my.php?image=61thru90april0ho.jpg Not that that really answers our question necessarily, but just thought I'd link it... --PandoraX 05:30, 3 November 2006 (PST)

suggestion

  • If anyone is really curious who she is, I would suggest writing to the actress herself c/o her talent agent, which is listed on the actress' article. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T20:35, 24 November 2006 (PST)
  • I Think she's Tracy the women whos sleeping with either Scott or Steve (i forgot which one is alive and which one's dead)
