It is the shot that is completely reversed, when compared with the rest of the scene, not the painting in particular. There was a paragraph describing the reversals but it was deleted. It was useful. I think it should be restored. -- Cheers 17:24, 16 February 2007 (PST)
It's theoretically possible, but reversing film is so common in tv and movies for the more mundane reason of keeping filming angles consistant (film makers will often get shots from different angles, but when two characters are talking, it is considered important that each one faces an opposite and consistant side of the screen), and there's not a convincing plot related reason so I'm placing my bets on the more common and mundance non-plot related reason. I still think it should be left in trivia. --Jackdavinci

Indeed, Lost has sometimes reversed film before for stylistic reasons, following eye-line segue into the next camera shot, etc. It has also reversed film to depict right-hand-drive automobiles, but of course that does not apply here. However I guess it can't be ruled out that if this is not a true "flashback", then that is one detail that is a clue to Desmond that it is not really happening. -- ^C¯ _Santa_ ¯^T 15:02, 21 February 2007 (PST)
