Catchy Jingle
I think we need a slogan, at the moment we are "Lostpedia: The Lost Encyclopedia" on the homepage. Its a lil dull - and some of you may know I've been hankerin' for another lostpedia contest for a while now....what d'ya think? A caption competition????? --Nickb123 (Talk) 11:32, 13 August 2006 (PDT)
- *LOSTpedia: the place for everything LOST.
- LOSTpedia: Do you get LOST?
- LOSTpedia: Get LOST, will ya?
- LOSTpedia: Now with more Hurley.
- LOSTpedia: You are found.
- LOSTpedia: The Island is watching.
- LOSTpedia: We have an article about a Box and we made it article of the week.
- LOSTpedia: Cuse and Lindelof know we exist.
- LOSTpedia: We have all Sawyer's nicknames.
- LOSTpedia: They took my son!
- LOSTpedia: We got an off-court settlement with Oceanic Airlines.
- LOSTpedia: The only place without a picture of Shannon's bare midriff.
- LOSTpedia: All your theories are belong to us.
- LOSTpedia: Despite the name, we are not that LOST.
- LOSTpedia: We are the good guys.
- LOSTpedia: A subsidiary of the HANSO foundation.
- LOSTpedia: Push the button.
- LOSTpedia: The button is bad.
- LOSTpedia: Relax, big guy, the numbers are good!
- LOSTpedia: Sawyer, Sawyer, Locke.
- LOSTpedia: As NOT seen on wikipedia.
- LOSTpedia: We visit the Scam websites so you don't have to.
- LOSTpedia: Rachel Blake has not attacked us yet.
- LOSTpedia: We desperately need a tagline.
I'm sure one of those is not as silly as I am feelin' right now. --GodEmperorOfHell 11:50, 14 August 2006 (PDT)
- I quite like "you are found" - but do you see the potential fun we could have with a contest on this one? --Nickb123 (Talk) 11:57, 14 August 2006 (PDT)
- I disagree - we should not change this slogan. However, it would be neat to pull raw stats on page views and say something like "Over 19 Million Served" based on page views. Jabberwock talk contribs email - 13:06, 14 August 2006 (PDT)
LOSTpedia: Your mind is being refreshed.
LOSTpedia: ...And Found
Seriously though, a contest would be great. I'm sure I'd come up with something eventually... |†|[ K i t s u n e ]|†|

What about a rotating banner with multiple slogans in random order when you view the main page it will change each time? -- nischwartz
- I agree with nischwartz. Multiple slogans, rotating.
- But if we're going to settle on one, I say this one:
- LOSTpedia: We have an article about a Box and we made it article of the week.
- Give people a real idea of what we're about (LOL)

- re: *LOSTpedia: Rachel Blake has not attacked us yet.
- We need a parody article attacking Rachel Blake, and exposing her as a fake, and generally slandering her. That'll get her (i.e. TLE's) attention. =x -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T22:25, 29 August 2006 (PDT)
- Erm, but she has attacked us, and left a glyph behind for good measure!! No one is safe from Persephone. I find it hilarious that ABC, Channel 4 UK, Seven Network Australia, Bad Robot and Disney are more than willing to acknowledge the site, but Wikipedia aren't! --plkrtn 05:43, 12 September 2006 (PDT)
- I think "Lostpedia: All your LOST answers with the push of a button." could be catchy. Just a thought.--scocub
about Main page
the main page its too simple, and its always the same.. we can made one better! more organized and pretty, with blocks more informative and designed!! .::
zOn3™ ::. 13:49, 16 August 2006 (PDT)
- Agreed (but I'm not the guy to do it...). I do think that up near the top of the page needs some links to some key explanations of what Lostpedia is, the difference between facts/theory/speculation, canon, etc. Given the discussion about the Wikipedia entry, it's important to we lay out our standards aggressively & patrol for quality & separating theory from factual info in articles. Education is one key part of that... --Jajasoon 13:16, 17 August 2006 (PDT)
- I did the last two redesigns, but if someone wants to set up a collaborative sandbox that'd save me time! --plkrtn 09:40, 20 August 2006 (PDT)
lostpedia link logo
i made this logo to put in sites related with lost to spread lostpedia name.. help to spread it!
- Thanks! I have some questions: 1) who posted this image? 2) Is lostpedia planning to get a links/affiliates page (upon which such 100x35 graphics are usually used)? -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T01:03, 23 August 2006 (PDT)
- 1) sorry.. i forgot, i made this logo! 2) i dont know about that, i just made the logo to the users spread lostpedia name.. but this is a very good idea! .::

- Hey z0n3, do you mind reposting this to forums as well? It might get a bit more feedback there. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T20:36, 23 August 2006 (PDT)

Hugo Cup
Jay and Jack have nominated us on their podcast for the Hugo Cup, their award for the best Lost website 2005-2006. I've added the fact to the front page! --plkrtn 22:32, 19 August 2006 (PDT)
So what happened with the results? Did we win? --marik7772003 20:46, 26 August 2006 (PDT)
- Which I believe has left Jay and Jack open to a lot of criticism, as they are friends with Ryan and Jen of the Transmission, who also do work for their podcast, and they helped set up the Lost podcasting network with them. Really, The Transmission because of this shouldn't have even been in the running, especially as it only ran for half a season, but if they want to open themselves up to accusations of nepotism its up to them. --plkrtn 03:27, 11 September 2006 (PDT)
This week on Lost
- Very Minor Suggestion: In the This Week on Lost block, wikify George Lopez to wikipedia's article. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T01:03, 23 August 2006 (PDT)
- Also, the typical usage is "Season Premiere" rather than "Season Premier". Yes, Premier and Premiere as adjectives are synonyms, so technically it's correct, although usually the noun spelled "Premier" refers to a prime minister. You can interpret the phrase however with "Season" as the noun, and "Premier/e" as a latin-style adjective (like attorneys general, tabula rasa, lingua franca), so "Premier" is technically probably ok. However, do a google search on "Season Premier" vs. "Season Premiere" and you will see a preference to the latter by an order of magnitude -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T03:14, 23 August 2006 (PDT)
- lost is returning whenever the recap episode is supposed to air. shouldn't somebody change that?--LOST ON CRAPHOLE ISLAND!!! My Article of the Week!!! 06:33, 2 September 2006 (PDT)
- ABC is rebroadcating "Live Together, Die Alone" on Sept 25th from 9:00 pm - 11:00 pm EST [2]. I mentioned this on the admin talk page last a week ago but I was told it would be updated the week of. The main page should be updated to reflect this since it is on before the recap on the 27th.--scocub
LEET

Forum
- I've had trouble getting into the forum the past few days, with either blank pages or very very slow load times (when it succeeds in loading at all). Is the forum being DOS'd? -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T15:28, 29 August 2006 (PDT)
- Yeah, I always get the page cannont be found page the first time I click it, and I have to click refresh a bunch of times till it will come up. Then sometimes when I tried to post a reply it has this little circle of dots going around and takes forever.--CaptainInsano 15:56, 29 August 2006 (PDT)
- Ditto, plus often when I click on a link or command (submit/preview), my Firefox tries to save the php document as a file. Something's just not right... --Jajasoon 19:52, 29 August 2006 (PDT)

- Is it a subdomain issue, or a vbulletin issue? I'm curious, what directory does the subdomain forum.lostpedia.com alias to? Maybe if we could enter the exact URL, then it wouldn't hang?, e.g. www.lostpedia.com/forumdirectory/ . However, I'd guess it's a vbulletin issue though. I've had search engines (mainly various google IPs) hit vbulletin forums so hard it's almost like a DOS attack, so sometimes you need to tweak the search engine settings-- to test it out, just ban the IP ranges of the google search bots temporarily, and see if there's an improvement. If so, then you can work at tweaking the settings. -- C¯ _Santa_ ¯T12:20, 31 August 2006 (PDT)
