Talk:Lord of the Flies

From Lostpedia

Delete - As with the page on The Outsiders, there is no relevant LOST content here. A reference on the Appearance of Literary Works page, perhaps with a link to an off-site book review would suffice.

Further, reading this article gives me the distinct feeling that it was copied whole from some other source. --Doc 12:59, 30 August 2006 (PDT)

Weak keep: The article sucks in terms of Lost related but I feel you can't do a Lost encyclopedia without a page on Lord of The Flies --Nickb123 (Talk) 13:00, 30 August 2006 (PDT)
  • Keep: Yeah agree with Nick.--CaptainInsano 13:03, 30 August 2006 (PDT)
Then it'll have to be substantially changed. Large portions appear to have been plaigerized from Wikipedia [1] --Doc 13:11, 30 August 2006 (PDT)
Agreed on this, Doc. Would people object if I deleted the large plagerized sections of wikipedia, and just linked the source? I have my own original writeup on similarities with the Lost story, but it's quite shorter and will need work to be a full article. --PandoraX 13:56, 30 August 2006 (PDT)
  • Keep The book is mentioned not once but twice by different Lost characters, and the plot has very strong ties to the themes of the show. --PandoraX 13:53, 30 August 2006 (PDT)
Shouldn't the article then point out the parallels, subtle links, and references instead of being a long book report? I would have no objection to that kind of article. --Doc 13:57, 30 August 2006 (PDT)
Then it should be nominated for cleanup, not deletion --Nickb123 (Talk) 13:58, 30 August 2006 (PDT)
Keep book report format, add parrallels to Lost, put shout-out to wikipedia for the article.--CaptainInsano 14:00, 30 August 2006 (PDT)

Re-Made

Thats some good re-editing Pandora. I think it looks very good now --Nickb123 (Talk) 14:14, 30 August 2006 (PDT)

Thanks! In case anyone thinks it looks familiar or that I wrote it awful fast, it is because I am plagerizing myself in this forum post: http://www.losttv-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16085 It's my own words either way. --PandoraX 14:15, 30 August 2006 (PDT)

Much better - I withdraw my objections. Thank you Pandora. --Doc 14:17, 30 August 2006 (PDT)
