Talk:Head Doctor
From Lostpedia
Rename
Rename to hospital administrator. "Head Doctor" could easily be confused with Chief of Surgery, a position held by Christian and Dr. Hamill. -- Sam T C 13:03, 23 May 2008 (PDT)
Rename: "head-doctor" is also a euphemism for psychiatrist. --Doc 14:07, 23 May 2008 (PDT)
- Still no action on this. How was the character identified in the show's credits? --Doc 13:24, 4 June 2008 (PDT)
- Strong Keep We don't have a name, and the character was credited as Head doctor. Therefore it stays. --Blueeagleislander 07:02, 6 June 2008 (PDT)
- Keep: If he's credited by ABC as Head Doctor, then that's the name we keep unless its not practical, like just "Man". --Nickb123 (Talk) 16:38, 19 June 2008 (PDT)
- Keep as Head Doctor per Nickb123. -- CTS Talk Contribs 20:52, 2 July 2008 (PDT)
Necessary?
On second thought, is this page really necessary at all? It seems to be (barely) a stub about a tertiary (or quaternary) character. --Doc 14:10, 23 May 2008 (PDT)
- If this page isn't necessary, I can think of a lot more characters who would be just as, if not more unecessary. --CTS 14:11, 23 May 2008 (PDT)
- I'm not really clear on the benefit of articles on such minor characters; the summary of the episode in which he appears already includes all the information about him that we have.--Hylas 14:19, 23 May 2008 (PDT)
- Is that set out in the policy pages somewhere?
- There's no need to be sorry; the existence of perpetual stub articles like this one does not particularly offend me. I was just commenting on whether or not I personally found them to be beneficial additions to the encyclopedia.--Hylas 17:04, 23 May 2008 (PDT)
- I'm not really sure if they're part of policy, more like unwritten law. See, each character, no matter how minor, warrants a page because they each are important to the story in a small way, as well as have their own actors, etc. And you can't be too sure, they may return in future episodes. -- Sam T C 17:18, 23 May 2008 (PDT)
- Also, just because an article is short, doesn't make it a stub. As long as all relevant information is there, it's not a stub. Stub means more incomplete than short. --Gluphokquen Gunih ▲ 17:21, 23 May 2008 (PDT)
- The rule is normally if they are on the ABC press releases, they get a page end of story. Sometimes we allow uncredited peeps to have their own page but only normally if they had a speaking part. --Nickb123 (Talk) 16:38, 19 June 2008 (PDT)
