Talk:Frank Lapidus
From Lostpedia
Has no one made the connection that Frank Lapidus is Frank the Bunny from Donny Darko? Seems pretty obvious to me. It may also help connect the dots between in the Frank is Jacob theory.
- I'm sorry, wha? How is that obvious? As far as I know lapin is french for rabbit, which is kind of a stretch to Lapidus, if that's what you're getting at. If not, what are you getting at? The Donnie Darko link is tenuous at best, not to mention the "Frank is Jacob" theory. Let's focus on the real issues here, people!

Jacob?
Frank is definitely not Jacob, we saw he was the original pilot of 815 -- SauronsMatrix talk contribs email 19:14, 7 February 2008 (PST)
- I don't think it's smart to single anyone out as being "definitely not Jacob" since there is no evidence to substantiate it either way. Just because we saw that he was supposedly the original pilot means nothing to this argument.
- Frank is definitely not Jacob, there's just no way in hell.C.m. 15:06, 2 May 2008 (PDT)

Frank was originally supposed to be the pilot of Flight 815. Frank is a "drunk" and the helicopter of the Freighters. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hunter61 (talk • contribs) .

The "How is it possible that Frank remembered about Seth's wedding ring and memorized Flight 815's 324 person manifest?" question is pretty self explanatory, he worked with seth, so he knew about his wedding ring, i am going to remove that part. it is assumed he studied the manifest after questioning the news broadcast/getting involved with abbadon, it's only an assumption, so i'll leave that. Does he work for Oceanic?
I'm not an expert on how airlines choose their pilots, but if Frank was supposed to be the pilot of an Oceanic plane, wouldn't that mean he works (or worked) for Oceanic? Or at least some airline company? I don't think they just pick any random guy off the street to fly their planes. ShadowUltra 05:16, 11 February 2008 (PST)
- My theory would be that he was found to be drunk on the day of the ill-fated flight, was thus replaced by the other pilot and perhaps this was the last straw to get him fired from Oceanic.Oodles 00:51, 15 February 2008 (PST)

Other Lapidus Coincidence?
I found a couple of interesting sites with interesting coincidental information. There may be an intended connection, probably not, but at least make for interesting coincidence.
I really don't know anything about the "Phil of the Future" series other than it was apparently modeled on the film, "Back to the Future". One of the writers for at least two of the episodes was Adam Lapidus. see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_I._Lapidus
I also found a website having that states, "We believe that words used creatively can be a powerful tool for health and personal and community development – through the writing, reading and performing of poetry, prose, fiction, drama and story." The name of the organization is Lapidus. see: http://www.lapidus.org.uk/
I don't consider these worthy of posting directly in the article, at least not yet. --OolonColluphid 23:56, 3 March 2008 (PST)
Just What Does He Know?
There seem to be inconsistencies in how they're presenting what Frank Lapidus knows. Is this just the fault of different writers juggling a new character into their respective stories, or is this by design? We know Frank has the manifest memorized because he could tell that Juliet was NOT on it. However, he hasn't mentioned that Desmond was not on the manifest. Maybe after seeing Miles' reaction to Juliet, he's purposefully keeping his mouth shut, but knows more than he's telling? Or maybe he really doesn't know more than a list of names, or doesn't have the list completely memorized? Frank doesn't seem to recognize the names of other survivors when he meets them. He also doesn't know details about their lives. He had to ask Jack what Sayid did for a living. Compare this to how Ben Linus can just rattle off a summary of his files on everybody. Give Ben a name and he can recite a biography. Give Frank a name, and maybe he'll tell you something of value or maybe he'll just burp in response. He also seems to know more than he's telling in other areas. He's indicated that Seth Norris was a friend, but hasn't asked if his friend survived the crash. Not asking the question isn't proof that he already knows the answer, but it does indicate that as a plausible possibility. He's aware that the freighter is a hotbed of tension and unpredictable behavior, and just wants to keep the peace. It's uncertain just how much of the whys behind it he understands, or why he's not spilling the beans to Sayid and Desmond, and I don't mean lima. - ZachsMind 05:58, 16 March 2008 (PDT)
- I'm curious to know what he knows about the plan to kill everyone on the island, and to what degree he is "on board" with that plan. It almost seems to me that he is, or at least was, a willing accomplice. Presumbaly when he flew Keamy and his mercenary team over, they must have had a ton of weaponry and war gear with em?C.m. 15:06, 2 May 2008 (PDT)
- Then again, Lapidus seems really, really SCARED of Keamy. Rightfully so, no doubt. He kept called him "sir" in "Something Nice Back Home." There's some real fear going on there. He seems to know full well (as of "Something Nice Back Home") that he's just transported a band of killers; he told Miles that Keamy was coming and would kill them all if he saw them. (Including Miles?) So, he's pretending to becooperating with Keamy, but he's actually foiling him, but on the other hand he transported him and his heavily ARMED crew over...????C.m. 15:06, 2 May 2008 (PDT)
Removed question
"Why was Frank running through the jungle ahead of Keamy's men?" He was running towards them with a medkit, not running away from them. Scarecrow 21:23, 10 May 2008 (PDT)
Another: "Does Frank wear a wedding ring?" We've seen enough of his left hand to be pretty darn certain the answer is no. --Apeliotes 18:29, 11 May 2008 (PDT)
