Connection to DHARMA

I stated the question with "How is Widmore connected" instead of "Is Widmore connected" based on the facts we know from sources outside the show that reveal Widmore is connected. But if others think it would be more neutral to state it as "Is he connected," please go ahead and change it. That leads to the question--what things outside the show are considered "cannon" (i.e. Lost Experience, Hanso website, Bad Twin, etc.)?

- I personally don't consider the Lost Experience and everything outside it to be fully canon, but I think the explanations provided by it are quite good/entertaining nonetheless to treat it as canon. I look at things as if TLE and everything else both were and were not canon. It certainly does make things more interesting that way! ∇ϕ 00:41, 16 February 2007 (PST)

Was desmond the only one in Widmore's race? (I know this has been said before, but...)He gave directions to Desmond, based on the Black Rock Diary, of where he thought the Island might be knowing that he would contact Penny at all cost on the phone number he had already given to Desmond through allowing him to contact Penny (address). He either didn't know when this would be and was banking on Penny's actions, or he knew that when Desmond had seen Penny he had told her he would call on the stated date and time and on that number. The name Widmore is also used in Bad Twin (see Clifford Widmore). Is there a connection? -elizamulcahy
