Talk:108

I removed an assumption which was made in the log printout image's caption. Factually, we do not know that the log printout displays an increment of 108 minutes. We only know that mathematically it increments by 108 units in base 60. Even if this number does represent time, it could be in minutes or seconds, and possibly it may have nothing to do with time at all. Until we learn more about the printout, it is only correct to speak about this increment mathematically. --Xsg 00:41, 15 May 2006 (PDT)

In the article, under Theories there is:

  • 3 x 3 x 3 x 4 = 108
  • 6^2 + 6^2 + 6^2 = 108

I don*t see why that is a theorie. What is so great about these numbers, that they are listed? Actually, those are no theories. They are facts. Can we take them out of the list? Or can anybody tell me what makes them special? --NPORTERN 01:56, 15 May 2006 (PDT)

I took them out, because I completely agree with you. Unless something special and relevant to Lost can be said about the numbers that mathematically constitute 108, equations don't belong here. Hell... I could say 107 + 1 = 108 just as easily...  ;) --Xsg 11:21, 15 May 2006 (PDT)

My birthday is 10/8. My name is Tom and the other day I met a girl named Sarah. Weird, huh?--NotARedHerring 11:31, 12 October 2006 (PDT)

The figures they type also make 108....

4+8+15+16+23+42 = 108... Just an interesting thing either.

Islam?

"Islam: The number 108 is used in Islam to refer to God." What's the source for this?--TechNic|talk|conts 12:39, 21 April 2008 (PDT)
