Lost Season 5 has been confirmed in an ABC press release [1].
Originally Season 5 was scheduled to air from February-May 2009, running without recaps for sixteen episodes. Due to the writer's strike at the end of 2007, it was announced that Season 5 will have seventeen episodes.
