• She is Rachel Brennan, wife of Tom Brennan mother to Connor.
  • Rachel's son is named Julian.
• Juliet's experiment is one of parthenogenesis. There is no father.
• "Rachel" is actually a biological male. In Juliet's interview with Richard Alpert, they talked about her success in impregnating a male field mouse. Rachel is transgendered and wanted a baby, and Juliet is helping.
  • Furthermore, it seems unlikely that Juliet would not notice that the chart she was examining (the on Ben gave her) was for a male. She clearly was not surprised. Perhaps Juliet was brought to the Island in order to impregnate male Others in order to perpetuate their civilization, since the Island seems to prevent female birth.
    • It has been confirmed that this was just a really bad mistake by the props people.
• Rachel is the wife of Jacob, mentioned from previous episodes where they mentioned "Jacob's list" of the "good people." In the Bible Rachel is married to Jacob and cannot bear a child. If Jacob is "Him" she is a major player and perhaps the catalyst of getting Juliet to the Island.
• At the end of the episode, Rachel isn't really cured at all. Instead Mittelos Bioscience forced her to act like she was cured so that Juliet would believe that she should join Mittelos, as she has a special gift and no need to experiment with Rachel anymore. (This also fits in well with Mittelos possibly murdering Edmund).
  • Ethan does appear outside of Rachel's room at the beginning of "Not in Portland"." He could have injected Rachel with hormones that would give a false positive on a pregnancy test. Rachel also uses a Widmore Labs pregnancy test, which might have been doctored (this could call into question the nature of Sun's pregnancy as well, as she uses the same kind of test).
• She is pregnant from Ethan Rom, or, at least, he has something to do with her pregnancy.
• Her cancer never came back. Ben forged the test results to trick Juliet into staying on the Island.
• She is the woman that Jack rescues from the car crash in Through the Looking Glass.
  • The woman in the car crash, Mrs. Arlen, had an 8-year old son. Rachel was pregnant with Julian before Juliet left for the Island, and Juliet was on the island for about 3 years in 2004. That would make Julian about 5 years old in 2007, when the car crash occurred.
• In her search for Juliet, she teamed up with Penelope Widmore to find her.
• Rachel from the show = Prudence from Bad Twin.
