- Fillion is best known for playing Captain Malcolm Reynolds in Firefly and in the movie Serenity, as well as the villain Caleb in the final season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He is a favorite lead actor of Joss Whedon.
- Fillion also starred as Joey Buchanan in "One Life to Live" and Johnny Donnelly in "Two Guys, A Girl and a Pizza Place," both of which were also ABC series.
- Fillion also starred as Alex Tully in the short-lived Fox series, Drive, executive produced by Tim Minear
