Libby's assertion that Claire could be combining experiences could be accurate. Moments in the flashbacks, such as the mobile playing Catch a Falling Star (the same song Claire earlier in the show revealed her dad used to sing to her), could simply be her imagination.
- Alternatively, the drugs she was given could have influenced her perception of the events.
The liquid Claire drinks from Ethan's canteen is most likely drugged, explaining the very sour taste.
The klaxon sound heard between the present on the island and the flashbacks on the island can be heard (quietly) before Danielle Rousseau knocks out Claire.
- It is the same one used in "A Tale of Two Cities" when Karl escapes.
