Synopsis

"Force Majeure"

Elliott is on board Flight 815. Beady Eyes gets out of his seat and starts approaching him when the plane begins to break up. Elliott blacks out, and then wakes up on the beach along with the midsection survivors. He has total amnesia and no possessions. When helping patch a fuel leak on the plane wreckage, he sees a vision of a familiar-looking woman. He chases after her, but she vanishes when he gets close. That night, while Elliott is looking for his backpack, Beady Eyes pins him down and asks menacingly, "Where is the camera?". Elliott does not know how to respond, so Beady Eyes punches him and repeats the question. Jack and Sayid notice the altercation so Beady Eyes gets up and, before knocking Elliott out, says "I'm gonna destroy that picture. Then, I'm gonna kill ya."

"A New Day"

Elliott needs to retrieve his camera and laptop from the cockpit in order to jog his memories, but Jack refuses to let anyone enter the jungle. The strange woman appears again, prompting another flashback. Elliott evades Jack and enters the jungle and is forced to hide from the Monster. He gathers his belongings from the cockpit but as he tries to leave, Ben and Juliet approach him, and tell him that "We think you're the one." Mr. Friendly clubs Elliott in the head, and the last thing Elliott sees before blacking out is Juliet approaching him with a needle.

"Via Domus"

Elliott wakes up at the beach and hears that Claire was also attacked. He needs a battery before he can use his laptop; Sayid directs him to Locke. After a flashback, Locke promises Elliott a battery if he follows him into the jungle. Locke shows Elliot the partially-excavated Swan exterior, then leads him to a cave. He chases visions of Lisa, who leads him to a skeleton clasping a compass engraved with Via Domus. As the monster enters the cave, Locke rescues him and gives him the laptop battery.

"Fourty-Two"

Elliott enters the Swan for the first time when a lockdown is triggered. He enters the Numbers and sees numerous maps painted on the Swan walls in the black light. He accesses the extra features on the Swan's computer and ends the lockdown; Sayid and Jack storm in, demanding to know why his laptop features a long list of illegal weapons and chemicals. Convinced he is a terrorist, they shut him in the armory.

"Hotel Persephone"

Elliott convinces Kate that he's just a reporter, and she lets him out. He remembers a hidden door he saw mentioned on the blast door map, and finds it behind a waterfall near the Swan. The door, however, is crumbled and shut; he needs dynamite to open it. After a lengthy journey to the Black Rock, where he is pestered by the Monster, he returns with the dynamite and opens the hidden door. The room reveals what is behind the Swan's electromagnetic wall: an enormous excavation site holding colossal magnets suspended beneath a geodesic dome, and a second computer. The room is in ruins, presumably from the incident or the discharge that brought down Flight 815. After Elliott shuts down what the computer calls a reactor, someone transmits a message to him via the second Swan computer: "We know who you are, Elliott Maslow, and we will find you."

"Whatever It Takes"

Elliott is chased by the Monster to the sonar fence and confronts it. After it scans him and leaves, Juliet appears and tells Elliott that Ben is wrong about him. She permits him to enter the Flame through its back entrance, where he discovers extensive records on himself on the computers inside, including phone call recordings. Once in the living room, he finds Mikhail talking to Beady Eyes. Elliott shoots Beady Eyes, killing him. He demands to know from Mikhail who the Others are and what they're doing: Mikhail responds "All in good time", before someone unseen hits Elliot with a tranquilizer dart. As he passes out, he sees Juliet and a crowd of Others entering the station.

"Worth A Thousand Words"

When he comes to, he's in the Hydra station. Tom interrogates him briefly before unlocking his cell. Elliott moves down the hall to a room where Ben and Juliet converse with him. They make an offer: they'll let him go home if he tricks Jack into entering an ambush at the Black Rock. They then escort him to the beach and dump him there.

Elliott asks Jack to accompany him to the Black Rock. Tom is waiting with an accomplice; they take Jack hostage as well as Kate, who was secretly tracking them. Elliott realizes he betrayed his friends the same way he betrayed Lisa, and decides to make a change: he detonates a piece of dynamite while shielding Kate, and blacks out from the pain. Jack and Kate escape.

Lisa appears from the wreckage.

Juliet wakes up Elliott, who has been dragged to a cliffside. She tells him she made a mistake in trusting Ben, gives him his equipment back, and tells him where to find a small boat he can use to escape, if he takes a compass bearing of 325. ("Live Together, Die Alone") When he reaches the dock, he finds the boat -- the Via Domus. He sets sail for home when he hears an intensely loud drone; it is the discharge caused by the activation of the Swan Station's fail-safe. A barely-audible transmission is heard on his radio: "Mayday, Mayday, this is O......ive." Elliott looks to the sky where Oceanic 815 is breaking up in mid-air, then he passes out. He wakes up at the crash site on Day 1. Everything seems to be repeating itself when suddenly Lisa stumbles out of the wreckage, covered in blood, and yells happily, "Elliott! Elliott! Oh my god, we made it. We're alive."

Flashbacks

Elliott is a photojournalist, romantically involved with his colleague Lisa. Lisa is writing an exposé on Zoran Savo, a shady character with ties to the Hanso Foundation and Thomas Mittelwerk. He wants the story for himself, and to that end he tips off Savo's bodyguards to Lisa's reporting. Savo orders her to be executed; Elliott escapes with photographs of the entire affair, but Savo finds out. He orders Beady Eyes, his bodyguard, to follow Elliott onto the plane and destroy the photographs. Numerous characters have minor cameos in these flashback sequences; their appearances are randomly generated, with a different character appearing each time. Strangely, even characters that do not appear in the rest of the game -- such as Eko -- appear in these random cameos.
