Jeannie was John Locke's younger foster-sister who died at a young age, from a broken neck received falling from some monkey bars. After her death, a Golden Retriever showed up and took up residence in Jeannie's bedroom.
Locke's foster mother believed that the dog contained the spirit of Jeannie. The dog vanished shortly after Locke's foster mother's death. It was never to be seen again. ("Outlaws")
