Hindsight
From Lostpedia
Hindsight is a science fiction novel written by Peter Wright. The book is about a Massachusetts Institute of Technology team, backed by a secretive anonymous sponsor, determined to create an eye into the past. The team wants to witness events like Leonardo da Vinci painting, Mozart composing, or Isaac Newton calculating the orbit of the planets. The scientists start running into trouble when a group dedicated to keeping the past hidden is determined to stop it. The team must fight against politicians to save their project, and their lives.
In Lost
- The book can be seen in the Swan station by Sawyer's bed as he is recovering from the injuries caused as a result of the raft incident (shown very briefly).
Trivia
- The publish date of this book (2003) was long after the time that the Swan was supposedly built (before 1980, the date of the Swan orientation film). This is likely due to prop error (background filler material used, not meant to be analyzed), given the extremely brief appearance of the book, though fans have used this to support hatch restocking theories.
