Theories

  • In the events of Essam's death and confiscating the explosive, Haddad and his terrorist cell may have made threats to Nadia's life, to force Sayid to cooperate in a retaliation act against the CIA. Sayid may have refused and boarded on Oceanic Flight 815 with the aim of rescuing Nadia, but as he got stuck on the Island he felt that her death by then would be inevitable. Thus, Sayid felt that she died because of him.
