Where Ben obtained the Parka

• Ben got this parka from the orchid station, as the name Halliwax has only been seen on the orchid orientation film. This is very likely if Ben had used the orchid station to travel in time and/or place to the desert, he probably grabbed the coat off the hook in the station that had been sitting there all those years.
• Ben could have also not expected to travel where he did. Assuming the orchid is on the island, he would have been planning to travel to somewhere cold. This would explain the look of surprise on his face.
