Lost cast members will often appear on television to promote and discuss the show. Interviews usually take place on the late night talk shows but occasionally occur on morning news broadcasts, daytime television and radio. Most interviews happen in the days and weeks preceding a new season or before a "special" episode airs such as a season finale or one where a major event or revelation occurs. Other times they will come on shows to promote DVDs or new media such as the 2007/08 mobisodes.

It is usually written into an actor's contract that they provide a predetermined number of interviews every season or before the release of a new movie that they star in.
