• Is the man being beaten by Charles Widmore
• Arturo is a prostitute, one of the things Tom "indulges" in when off the island.
• Arturo is important only to confirm theories that Tom is gay and serves no purpose to the plot.
  • Tom's meeting with Michael might be the last opportunity that the writers had to close up Tom's story.
• Arturo is one of the Others
  • Tom sent him outside when he was talking with Michael about the Island. He wouldn't need to do that if Arturo were an Other.
    • He might not be important enough to hear. Juliet said that they didn't tell her everything that was going on, so maybe he wasn't being told everything that was going on.
      • Artoro says "is this the guy who cam at you with a champagne bottle?" and then smiles before exiting. If he wasn't in on the secret to some extent, he would have wanted to know why Tom was entertaining someone who tried to mug him.
        • Tom may have just done this to make Michael seem more comfortable and "trusted," to some extent.
