  4. Proven by canon source, and moved to main article.
  5. Speculative and lacking any evidence to support arguments.

Identity

  • She is Sarah Shephard, the woman Ben knew who "looks just like" Juliet.
    • Juliet was chosen by Ben to maninipulate Jack because she looked like Sarah.
    • In 2007, Sarah is pregnant with Ben's child.
  • She is Charles Widmore's wife, and Penny's mother.
  • She is Charlotte Lewis.
    • Highly improbable, as Ben listed off Charlotte's history.
  • She is Jacob's daughter.
  • She grows up off-island and is Mrs. Hawking.
  • She's Ben's first love.
  • She is Horace Goodspeed's daughter.
  • She is Isabel.
  • She is Kate.
    • Kate would remember, and Ben would treat her a lot differently.
    • Also wouldn't Kate be too young? Ben and Annie were roughly the same age and Ben is roughly in his late 40s, placing the flashbacks from "The Man Behind the Curtain" in the 70s. Kate was born in 1979, so therefore it's impossible.
    • Perhaps she is kate, and left the island, and the same as Desmond lost her memory about being on the island, but didn't suffer the same symptoms that Desmond and Minkowski suffered.
  • Annie is Amelia's daughter. In the very last page of the book Carrie, there is an excerpt from a letter sent from a woman named Amelia to her sister. She explains that her daughter, Annie, seems to have telekinetic powers.
  • She is Danielle.
    • Danielle is Annie, and Alex is Ben and D annie LLE's child. Danielle is actually the victim of the Sickness that she believes claimed her companions. She is not lying, but merely confused; the Sickness is a condition of madness. She is alone either because her madness and paranoia drove her to the woods, or because she was clearly dangerous in her insanity and was banished by the Others that she, in fact, was one of.
    • Danielle is either lying or confused about her own history. She placed one of the matching dolls she and Ben exchanged as bait for one of her traps. This explains why Ben was caught in the net--he would naturally want to investigate. It also explains Ben's interest in Alex--she is his biological daughter.
    • Annie makes dolls, and Danielle baits her traps with dolls.
    • Ben and Annie are about the same age; Ben and Danielle appear to be about the same age.
    • She is the only surviving member of the DHARMA initiative, she hates Ben for what he did in the purge, and she got pregnant from another man, but Ben thought that her baby was his, so he kidnapped Alex. She was lying to Sayid when she said that her name was Rousseau, because she wanted her identity to remain a secret, and Rousseau is another guy who lost his jacket, and Danielle found it.
    • Danielle is Annie. She was brainwashed in Room 23 before the Purge in an official experiment, which is part of the reason why Ben decided to kill dozens of DHARMA workers in cold blood as an adult. This also explains why Annie/Danielle would not be killed in the purge: she was already in the wild living on her own in her chaotic psychological state. Her Yugoslav "accent" was also given through the brainwashing, which partly explains Dannielle's poor French accent and vocabulary and the loss of Annie's childhood American accent. Alex is the daughter of Danielle and Ben.
  • She is Karl's mother.
  • Annie is the young woman assisting Edgar Halliwax in the Orchid orientation video.
  • She is Kate's mother.
  • She is Thomas' mother, and Aaron's grandmother.

Misc

  • When Harper says to Juliet "Of course [Ben has been good to you]; you look just like her." The her being referred to is Annie.
    • She was likely referring to Ben's mother. Juliet and his mother do look alike.
  • She was killed by Jacob, explaining why Ben would want to hold Jacob prisoner inside the old, dilapidated cabin known as Jacob's house.
  • She left the island before the Purge. This could partly explain Ben's attitude towards people leaving the island.
  • We will see her return (in Real-time), along with the Ben doll she made.
    • She gives Ben the dolls so they'll never have to be apart from each other because she was soon going to leave the island.
  • Annie is pregnant with Ben's baby but somehow frozen in time. Ben is obsessed with fertility research because he wants to save Annie when she is unfrozen.
  • Annie was helped to escape by Ben but kept in a house, like Jacob's cabin. He visits often and will not let her out, or else Jacob will kill her.
  • She got pregnant with Ben's baby and died which is why Ben is so obsessed with finding a cure, also adding onto the fact that he accidentally killed his mother by being born early in the woods. He feels that pregnancy has killed the 2 women he loved the most in his life, and also why he locked Karl up in order to prevent Alex from the same fate. Richard also pointed out to Locke that Ben is far more obsessive with finding a cure than the rest of the Others are.
    • This is why Alex was taken, to replace the baby Ben lost with Annie's death.
  • Ben was running to see her when he was caught in Danielle's trap.
  • Annie left the island and married Jack under the name of Sarah.
  • "Annie" is the childhood name of Penelope Anne Widmore, or should I say Penelope Anne DeGroot. Daughter of Gerald DeGroot and Karen Widmore. Taken from the island by her concerned grandfather and raised as his daughter. Ben has never lost his obsession with Annie and is just another unwanted suitor in Charles Widmore's eyes. Ben pursues Annie (Penny) relentlessly whenever he leaves the island. Widmore is tired of Ben and wants the freighter team to retrieve him. On Find815.com, the letter found with instructions is from the Maxwell Group, a subsidiary of Widmore Industries.
  • This seems to have been proven false by Ben's stated goal of killing Penelope as retribution for Alex's death.
  • Ben got Annie pregnant, so Annie had to leave the island to give birth. Annie gave birth early and died the same way as Emily Linus. The child was put into care as there was no record of a father and Ben was left on the island unable to do anything, or the island would be in danger of found. This is why Ben is so determined to find a cure for the pregnant women.
  • Annie has potential, and left the Island to work as senior member of the Dharma, so she was not on the island at the time of the purge.
    • She will return to the island, along with other Dharma members when the discover there has been another Incident, years after the Dharma Islanders had all been killed. Thus taking the oceanic 6 off the island.

Still alive on The Island

  • Annie could very well still be alive on the island, she was Ben's friend as a child, and there was a strong bond between them both, Ben could of made sure she was safe during the time of The Purge and is currently residing at the Temple.--Nzoomed 00:33, 30 April 2008 (PDT)
