Relationships

• Her mother is Danielle and her biological father is: Robert - Danielle's lover, mentioned by her in "Solitary". Ben raised her as her father.
  • Statements by both Ben and Danielle corroborate this explanation and we have no evidence to the contrary at this point or reasons not to believe them.
    • Ben says in "The Shape of Things to Come" that he took her from an insane woman (Danielle of course) when she was a baby.
      • The purge happened in 1992 correct , so if Alex was in fact sixteen ,Ben would not have been able to have her since she was a baby , did he take her as his own after this , if so , where was she before hand and did Ben have a more active role in The Hostiles before the purge?
        • In order for Alex to be convinced that Ben was her father, he would have had to raise her from a very young age. Maybe the discrepancy between her age and the date of the purge has to do with time working differently on the island.
          • But it is shown that the time on the island , year 2004/5 is the exact same as the outside world , how does that work?
• The elusive Radzinski helped care for baby Alex after the Others kidnapped her (at their request) in the safety of the Swan station prior to the 1992 arrival of Inman and the Purge that followed. Shortly before his new co-worker arrived, he returned Alex to the Others, who cared for her until giving her to Ben after the Purge.
  • It is not stated whether Rousseau became pregnant while on the island. It is very possible that Alex was conceived and brought to term while on the island- making her quite unique, and valuable. I think this is why Ben adopted her instead of another member of the group. He could have just as easily had someone else raise her. I argue that he knew that she is special and waned to keep her close.

Actions

• Gave Locke the gun before he left with Ben to see Jacob to protect him from Ben. After seeing how hostile Ben was toward Locke during the Cooper patricide incident, and knowing Ben, she knows Locke is in danger. She also makes a point of giving Locke the gun infront of Ben - perhaps to dissuade him from trying to hurt Locke - making the point that Locke is armed.
